I watched her "Silly girl" I said to myself I breathed in deeply taking in the salt water air "Maybe one day she'll be good for something" I began to laugh at my own joke then sighed and went back to reading.

I smiled at my feet, long ago were the days when I would walk the tightrope for fun, I closed my telescope, relieved not be followed by that dreaded ship. I made my way to the remote guest quaters every ship had, I will not sleep in the crews quater with all those men

I looked up from my book and the sails have been repaired "Raise the anchor!" I yelled as I got up from my seat. I pulled out the compass "We sail West men!" my men raored in excitment and began getting to work.

I laughed softly to myself, foolish man, the compass would point to me, he needed the key and I was the one who wore it, he'd loose himself in the sea and go nowhere as whatever direction I am, the arrow will point. I jumped and landed swiftly on the pole, I laughed and said softly to myself, "Foolish men"

I watched as my men worked they seemd to have it under control so I went to my cabin. I grabbed my hat then headed back out "Where did the woman go?" I asked one of my men "I believe she went to take a rest sir" he replied then got back to work "Perfect" I said then walked towards the quarters where my men slept "Woman!" yelled at the top of my lungs so she could hear me "You have something of mine!"

I sat on the bed and laughed more, he thought I'd be sleeping there? I looked around, I must admit, the guest quaters are quite nice, I took off my my hat setting it on a small table, I quickly changed into my nightware and made myself comfortable

I snarled then went to the guest quarters I barged through the door "I assure you that you are not a guest on my ship" I grabbed her and flung her over my shoulder "You will not be sleeping there tonight or any other night" I walked with her on my shoulder into the quarters for my men "You will sleep here with my men where they can keep and eye on you do I make myself clear?" I set her down on one of the beds and stood over her angrily.

I sat down on the bed and looked around, the state of this place was filthy. I felt so exposed in my nightwear and hid myself underneath a blanket, I said in a soft gentle voice I hardly ever used, "Please"

I can't believe it I actually feel pity for her. I let out a sigh "Fine but you must give me back my feather and tell me more about this compass" I said pulling it out of my pocket and giving it to her "It's an amazing contraption."

"Deal" I placed the compass in my hand and watched as the arrows spun wildly, I laughed, I neither wanted nor needed anything. I stood up and began walking towards the guest quaters

I walked after her shaking my head with each step. "I apologize for acting so harshly towards you," I said trying not to sound to weak "It was not right" -

"No it was not", I say, as we enter the guest room, I sit on the edge of the bed and place the compass in my hand, "Quite beautiful isn't it? Took a hard fight to get it. Here" I said holding it out for him -
(Yay. :D)
I looked at it "Beautiful yes but how does it work? And who did you have to fight to get it?" I asked curiously. I wanted to ask more questions but decided to hold off on them for now. -

"One question at a time", I said and positioned the compass so it sat in the middle of his hand, "Now, I want you to concentrate on what you want and need, which is the key, okay?"
