  I sat up and tried to wiggle my toes, no such luck. I sighed and used my arms to push me to the side of the bed, then onto my desk chair, which rolled.

  She needed sleep, I knew. My heart beat hard and fast in my chest. Silence reached my ears.

  I was able to reach the ground and roll over to my backpack, then back to my desk. I sat there the rest of the night doing homework.

  I washed the dried blood off and gently got into some clean clothes. I went downstairs to find my mom passed out on the kitchen floor. I sighed and picked her up in my arms and carried her to her room.

  As I ran, I felt a strong need to just relax for once. I saw a tall, cozy looking tree. I strategically climbed it and sat comfortably on the wood. I bonced around raps.
