I push my nervousness away. "You never give up, do ya?" I ask, following him as he moves toward where the sound occured.

I grin. "Nope." I push open a door, but see nothing. Darkness. I flip a switch, and see someone's back straighten. "Hello children." The man says, turning around.

"Oh my god you scared me!" I say

I reach for her hand. "Perry, I don't understand. Do you know this man?"

I search his face for familiar clues, but don't see any. "No, I don't think so." I respond, taking his hand and feel an odd sensation when I do.

I feel...a sudden thrill...when she takes my hand. I glance down at Perry, and smile, then look back at the man leaning against the wall. "Who are you?" I ask. The man grins, and I notice something about him...like I've seen him before...

I find the grin bringing back a memory... the same one that I recollected when I saw my baby picture! "You're Paul, aren't you?"

The man has the same grin on his face when he replies in a distinct Liverpuldlian (meaning from Liverpool which is in England) accent, "You're Perenelle, aren't you?"

I look at Perry, surprised. The man smiles. "Hello Perenelle." He turns to me. "And who is this?" I take a step forward. "I'm Michael, Perry's best friend."

"We... well, mostly I... have run away. I met my father. He and my mum didn't exactly get along well. They made me choose one of them. I chose neither."

I chuckled a little. "She chose me."

I mutter, inaudible to Paul, "Shut up!" I'm sure my cheeks are super red right now.

"Anyway, um, Mr. McCartney, can you help us? We need somewhere to stay the night. We won't stay any longer than that."

"Well, that's up to you. But you're welcome to kip at my place for as long as you like. Of course, it'll be hard keeping that from John," Paul replies. "Oh, and being the daughter of my best friend, there's no need to be formal. I'm sure George and Ringo would agree."
