hawaii part II (2012)
starting off with a real classic(?) here lol. I hold all of hpii dearly but this song especially changed my life and im not even joking. cant really elaborate on THAT without getting super personal, but otherwise without this song I never would've known about lml!! auughh I never would've met so many nice people!!! AAUUUGH!!
I don't listen to this song super often anymore lol but about 2 years ago atp I managed to get hyperfixated on just this one song. it was really weird like I didn't know that could even happen. there wasn't really a lot of official content either so I had to search for fanmade tme stuff like animations. and there were plenty of those. one of which being the lml animation of it,,,
I had sorta vaguely known about lml's existence before I knew anything about hpii (or even tme itself) cause back in either 2022 or 2021 I came across this beautifully animated tiktok of the bridge of the song. I was highkey hypnotized by what I was looking at even though it was unfinished. I remember this very vividly because it was the most mindblowing thing my 12 year old baby brain had ever laid eyes upon. also I was eating some really good homemade wontons . I remember exactly what they smelled like and tasted, where I was, and how I couldn't stop thinking about the animation for a while after. the only thing I didn't remember however was how the song it was animated to SOUNDED. I think I might've known that it was called 'the mind electric', but I completely forgot what it sounded like. most of this surprises me because I hardly remember anything from those years. this is legit the most vivid memory of them I have
anyway , flash forward like maybe half a year later, the animation's finished (and had been for a few months already), and I forgot all about it since that one day. eventually im in my brother's room, scrolling on my youtube homepage. and what do I find there??? that very same animation in its fully fledged form!! im all like 'oh wow I forgot all about this' and watch it for nostalgia . I didn't keep up with the development of the animation at all though so I kinda thought itd just be the bridge again LOL?
BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. THIS WAS THE WHOLE SONG. there was so much of the video I never saw before , and again, I was completely awestruck by what I was looking at- so much so that I started tweaking out . I felt something stirring within me and brewing in my mind after finishing the animation.. and little did I know... I would become hyperfixated on that very song a mere few days later. and about a month later, in the july of 2023 , I would find out that this animation had LORE behind it, and a (now deleted) webtoon. instantly I am invested... it was 5 am and I wasn't even meant to be up, but you bet your ass I read that s--- anyway. I remember getting to the last chapter and thinking 'oh my god I need more' and the rest was history tbh.. legit went to bed and was instantly hyperfixated on lml the moment I woke up. 1 in a million occurrence for me there. also I think I legit liveposted my first reading of the webtoon on here somewhere ?? ill find it sometime, its always funny for me to look back on.
so ya guys,,,I love lml and the mind electric, very awesome pieces of art, and without them I really don't think id be who I am rn . which might sound dramatic but I met a lot of friends through them and i'm much happier now . also audric lml was my gay awakening LOL thanks bro
this might be the most I have to say about any of the songs on my jaylist though so sorry for the yap I just had to. the mind electric always makes me extremely nostalgic cause of this. also sorry that it was mostly an lml yap too but hey.... there's a lot of fandom overlap between hpii and lml anyway.... its ok........ -

this whole album slaps but suburbia overture is my Big Favorite. I actually used to really dislike this song but that's only because I skimmed through it and didn't like the first couple verses/sections however I eventually gave it a chance and listened to this thing the whole way through and omg.... vampire culture turned me gay. I love you vampire culture.
this song is my Big Favorite mostly cause he hits the highest note he ever has on here and I love high notes! awooga! like listen to vampire culture okay?? listen really closely to the bridge (or around the ending of it, I forget wtf a bridge is)... do you hear it... the chanting in the background... "drink that blood".... that's him. idk I just think that's cool LOL how'd he. do that
also im attempting to put the album cover up here that I linked from Wikipedia lets see if that works. I got five hours of sleep last night btw so I think everything I said sounded kinda disjointed and weird , don't worry about hthat

I recently just got back into my jhariah era and i'm not really sure what this ones about (I speculated like. masking, parasocial relationships, chronic pain somehow -- I forgot why I thought that tbh -- or just all three) but like the rest of this album, this goes crazy hard.,,

i've known about jhariah a lot longer than anyone I currently listen to (aside from radiohead and deftones actually), but for some reason i've only just started llistening to their music again?? so ive been missing out on a lot but at least I was there for the release of THIS album... because this right ehre... is Peak... out of all the peak I picked MLD because right now the way he sings the first verse is living in my Brain. huge image again but hey guys,,funny story. I forgot to do my daily johnlist the last 3 days so HERE ARE 3 SONGS ALL AT ONCE.
I admit I don't know much about chonny jash at all, and these ARE different versions of miracle musical's TME (with their own lore!), but they're going here anyway!!! that's right, you get 4 the mind electrics on one page. lmfao.
I may not have been a super big fan of these at first cause I thought they were too loud and crazy.... but then I became a will wood fan. and then I got back into jhariah's music. and then I realized that I love metal. so now I love loud noise in my ears aagghhh yes so good.
I cant pick a favorite from the 3 because it kinda changes depending on how im feeling (sorta like will wood) but the soul eclectic is my baby. also I just really love the naming scheme lol that's all I gotta say. listen to these if you like the original TME and also like noise!!! also sorry for disappearing... it might happen again lol -

everything is a lot (2015)
now this one has kind of a funny story to it sorta. for me. not for will wood and/or his tapeworms. so back in 2021 i f---ing despised will wood. like i never took the time to sit down and listen to any of his music but i hated him bad. this is because of THREE SONGS. front street, i / me / myself, and thermodynamic lawyer, which i knew nothing about (aside from front street's questionable lyrics, the "baby with autism ceiling fan" thing from thermodynamic lawyer, and that everyone thought i/m/m was transphobic) but i believed anything anyone said to me on tiktok at the time-- which was that will wood is a terrible evil person (or just "problematic" as everyone put it) -- and jumped on the hate train, vowed never to listen to his music in my entire life, and moved on. no i did not do any of my own research, why would i when tiktok user arson already has for me?? everyone on the chronically online side of tiktok in 2021 was extremely trustworthy. as everyone knows.
anyway about 2 years later i was in my miracle musical era. i was also a twitter user. i found some post about "cursed music notations" where the picture attached just read something like "(anguished screams of the damned)" or whatever. i quote tweeted that s--- and was like "errm, guys? this MIGHT be the mind electric demo 3.. hehh..." of course i knew it wasn't tme sheet music, i just was Very Normal about tme and all its demos so i made a Joke.
i was then properly schooled by some people on tallytwt that i didn't know. they told me "no this is skeleton appreciation day by will wood" but i was confused, like didn't we hate that guy?? i wasn't aware that it turned out that everyone had taken all those lyrics the wrong way, so i still thought ww was a bad dude. so i was kinda weirded out but i listened to the song anyway. the first will wood song i had actually sat down and listened to the whole way through.... this is a moment in history..
i thought it was mid tbh. i was just like "yeah i guess this works but wheres the anguished screaming??" so i looked around for some "screamier"(???) will wood songs, and the first one i came across was none other than cotard's solution, which is like nobody's favorite song of his. and i listened to THAT cause.. screaming.. and i didn't like that one either. so i was like "idk i guess will wood isn't problematic but his music still sucks."
THE VERY NEXT DAY I BEGAN LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC. and i liked it. i think at the time my favorite songs of his were 6up 5oh, hand me my shovel, cotard's solution, and dr. sunshine bc im basic lol.
anyway im staying up way too late writing this so i have to be quick. uhh errmmm moral of the story... will wood is fine and skeleton appreciation day slaps even though i didn't like it for a while..... -

this was the first jack conte song I've ever listened to front to back because it came on after i finished my soundcloud playlist like a year ago. instantly i was hooked.. mostly because it had a karkat picture for the unofficial reupload i listened to. why are so many jack conte fans ALSO homestuck fans i don't get it what is the overlap
ok actually i heard bits and pieces of ONE jack conte song before years ago but i never knew the title or artist so i never fully listened to it. the song was yeah yeah yeah (v2). it's sort of an outlier from the rest of his songs, but you've probably heard it before too . give it a shot
admittedly i don't have much to say about this song (or any other songs of his) other than i just think it's really good, and criminally underrated (LIKE ALL HIS MUSIC ASIDE FROM POMPLAMOOSE.) also i have an insane headache right now which means i cant stare at a screen for too long, so erm. maybe give a listen to a couple of his songs -- you might like them, you might hate them, i don't know what kind of music anyone here likes. but if you're anything like me and you enjoy falsetto, occasional grungy elements, and sometimes off-putting and weird music (or radiohead) maybe you'll like something of his. Toodlepip i swear i wont take a week to post again -

I don't actually have much to say here I just really like this song and the album. also love the cover but why did they do selfie (i know its just will wood in body paint photoshopped together. im calling this guy selfie) like that in the remaster. you guys chopped him omg.
I have to be in a certain mood to listen to self-ish and despite it being a relatively short record, I cant listen to all of it in one sitting because i'll get overstimulated and get 15 headaches. so I have to microdose this album sometimes but I love it either way. however, heed my warning, it's probably like the worst album to start with if you're just getting into will wood. listen to eial or tna first otherwise you'll go into cardiac arrest listening to cotard's solution... which is objectively the most intense song on the album. it is also the third track.
wait im meant to be talking about this song not the album. idk man I just love hand me my shovel. it's the easiest to listen to (aside from self- and -ish, the opener and ending respectively) and I find it quite catchy. I don't care what you all say. "oh you are love is best" "I love being drunk is best" "uhhmm well gravedigress! :nerd:" QUIET DOWN. nobody is the superior unreleased song.
is it cheating to have an unreleased song on here...?? no............. I just really really love this song. I think the lyrics are good and it's very vibes. the lyrics are different depending on where you're getting them from but theyre good either way. also I like how he sounds like a vampire sometimes.thats all I got im sleepy -

the paper chase is such a strange band to me because every song by them I've heard so far freaks me out so bad that it activates my fight-or-flight and I get nauseous, but they're also just so good that I cant stop coming back to them . this song in particular is a very good example of that !
Because; i have this weird thing. I tend to think that if I...... Think about something bad for too long then it'll happen. and being Sick™ is a very bad thing, even a Common Cold™ is like actual sensory hell for me. so this song, being about Disease™ and Illness™, makes me very anxious and paranoid because it's stuck in my head all the time. and tha tmeans.... i'll get Sick™ for sure.... just by thinking about It™.... a song about Sickness™...

anyway I haven't gotten Sick™ yet so maybe im just tweaking for no reason. THATS GOOD BECAUSE I LOVE THIS SONG. I didn't think the paper chase was a real band at first but after listening to a few songs I found out they are in fact real. I found their singer's Instagram and my phone crashed pretty quickly but I gathered that he was the coolest 48 year old I've ever seen, and if hes real... then the band is real too..
and I know I was just talking about how their music turns me into a tortured soul and a shaking little chihuahua, and maybe that sounds like a bad thing, but its not. their music is really good and it probably wont have the same effect on you, trust. I'm just Mentally Ill™. go listen to this song if you Do Not have my same problem and you like "indie alternative rock" or however people have described it. idk i thought of it as "evil f---ed up rock music" but then again i don't know genres!!!! yay another paper chase song! who cheered! [the crowd goes silent and looks at each other in confusion] um.. w... well, um.... please just excuse the ms paint album cover I made for this,,,. I think the original cover is something they just photoshopped together but I thought maybe it'd make people uncomfortable. and I am aware that's kind of the band's whole thing, but I also know that not everyone wants to have a naked man hanging on their screen.also im 80% sure that would be against the site rules so I made this!!
I think its far enough from the original cover to be inoffensive but also still recognizable. if not though please let me know so I can have it deleted and reposted without any picture. thankx
anyway about this song. This album is the Best Album in the World. and as such this is the best Ending to an Album in the World. like all paper chase songs though , when I first heard it I HATED IT!! but then.... five days later... it became my favorite. how does this happen.
oh ueah and like. kinda funny story. the paper chase tends to sample from some pretty bizarre and obscure stuff (so much so that im pretty sure ALL their songs have samples in them). so usually you wouldn't hear the samples anywhere else cause theyre so obscure. HOWEVER. I went to a deftones concert last month and like RIGHT before they played change they used the sample from the beginning of this song.
now I have no idea where this sample comes from ("you do not want to believe, you are sleeping") but I began shaking when the lights went dark and this started playing. I was like Oh My God They're About To Play The House Is Alive And The House Is Hungry. only to then be JUMPSCARED by change in the house of flies. god that concert was f---ing awesome
anyway that's all. I just think this song is neat... pls listen///
