The five characters are none other than Andrew Zhu, Anna Yu, Elegans (the Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet), Lloyd Chan, and Mel Grimson (he/him/his). - This is because Lloyd Chan literally owns his truly very own 1,200 sq. ft, 2 bed, 1 bath house in Santa Clara, CA 95051. Elegans (the Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet), Anna Yu (Lloyd Chan's romantic and playful girlfriend), and Mel Grimson (he/him/his) (the dolt) all live there with Lloyd Chan.
- Therefore, the three are all Lloyd Chan's roommates. Lloyd Chan calls them their "permanent roommates". However, as far as Andrew Zhu is concerned, Lloyd Chan and Andrew Zhu have a contradictory friendship/interaction dynamic. The main one is the fact that Lloyd Chan doesn't allow Andrew Zhu to live in his house, yet when Andrew Zhu is apparently late, Lloyd Chan wants to know where he is and wants him to show up. Andrew Zhu is allowed to enter Lloyd Chan's house, to hang out with Elegans (if Elegans is available), for daily "club meetings" in the "Doltish Villains Club" (hosted by Mel Grimson), and participating in Lloyd Chan's "absurd events".

Andrew Zhu.
- Andrew Zhu, better known as Andy or Andrew, also known by his full name (Andrew William Zhu) (born: September 21, 2006) (age: 19 years old, height: 5'10", 131.6 lbs), is one of the five main characters in "Matt Olsson Brainrot".
- Andrew Zhu is Elegans's best friend and known for being contradictory, profane, talkative, and hateful. Examples of him being hateful would be this: Andrew Zhu hates God for making him, creating him, and giving him life. Andrew Zhu can be quite blasphemous, believing that God is watching him like "how someone watches a TV show", laughing at his suffering "as if it's a funny moment or moment (s)". Andrew Zhu even believes God is eating popcorn with His son "as if they were best friends hanging out", also believing that God is feeding popcorn to the Holy Spirit "like how someone would feed a pigeon popcorn".
- Andrew Zhu and Elegans also have officially met for the first time on October 22, 2022 and it really did happen, in the same local public park the characters usually go to, which is in Santa Clara, CA 95051 (the one and only setting overall). This is back when Andrew Zhu was a junior in the high school he attended (back in T1/Term 1/Semester 1).
- Andrew Zhu even goes as far as trying to help Lloyd Chan disable Google's AI Mode, as both Lloyd Chan and Andrew Zhu are tired of its existence and its responses "getting in their way".
Anna Yu.
- Anna Yu, also known as Anna Catherine Yu or simply Anna (born: July 31, 2006) (age: 19 years old, height: 5'7", weight: 122.7 lbs) is Lloyd Chan's romantic and playful girlfriend, and one of Lloyd Chan's permanent roommates (alongside Mel Grimson and Elegans, the Protobothrops Elegans).
- She loves to call Lloyd Chan "Lloydiepoo" or "Lloyd Channiepoo" from time to time.
- Anna Yu doesn't hate nor does she dislike Andrew Zhu, despite the latter not having constructive interactions with her.
- Anna Yu loves participating in Lloyd Chan's "absurd events". She even made an "event" of her own, where she playfully pretended to be a supervillain, trying to "defeat" Lloyd Chan (as if he was a hero, despite knowing he is literally her boyfriend), also going as far as intentionally briefly taking stuff that belongs to Elegans, Mel Grimson, Andrew Zhu, and Lloyd Chan, using them to try to defeat "Lloyd Chan", believing she is "unstoppable", even though she is obviously not.

- Elegans, also known as Elegans the literal adult male brown Protobothrops Elegans who can talk and play the trumpet who ages exactly like a human, or "Elegans, the Protobothrops Elegans" (born/hatched on: October 19, 2006, age: 18-19 years old, ages exactly like a human), is Andrew Zhu's best friend, a lead trumpeter, and one of Lloyd Chan's permanent roommates (alongside Anna Yu and Mel Grimson).
- Elegans is known for always saying "bro", "man", sometimes "you feelin' me" or "you know what I'm sayin'?". Elegans is a literal Protobothrops Elegans who has a lead trumpeter job, a human boss telling him what to do, working six days a week, and gets paid $1,920 per week. His human boss, his human band members, and a lot of people in Santa Clara, CA 95051 in general, admire Elegans's success and fame.
- However, Elegans also had a highly difficult past; as a lot of people didn't accept Elegans's existence, dental staff wouldn't accept him as a new patient, school staff wouldn't enroll Elegans as a new student, people thought they were "doing drugs" or "on something" when they saw Elegans, and this was back when Elegans was 6-13 years old. There's also the fact that grocery store cashiers wouldn't accept his money all because he is a snake. He deliberately stays away from people who have a fear of snakes and those who hate him. This causes him to hate "discrimination against the Protobothrops Elegans species".

- Lloyd Chan, also known as Lloyd or Lloyd Yuan Chan (born: October 31, 2006, age: 18-19 years old, height: 5'8", weight: 124.7 lbs) is the established homeowner of his truly very own 1,200 sq. ft, 2 bed, 1 bath house in Santa Clara, CA 95051.
- Lloyd Chan buys food and other necessities for them, covers any potential medical bills for them, makes sure they are healthy, and make sure they have fun. He comes up with the "absurd events".
- Lloyd Chan got his 1,200 sq. ft, 2 bed, 1 bath house on October 31, 2024, after his parents unapologetically kicked him out of the house, after his family won the lottery ($110M), they (Lloyd Chan's parents) at least gave him $10M. Lloyd Chan spent $700K-$1.3M on a house in his favorite childhood place, Santa Clara, CA 95051, adding a touch of nostalgia.

Regardless of what he is addressing or referring to (doesn't matter if it's something he hates or likes, although it is mainly things/people he hates), he will always use "dolt" and "doltish".
- Mel Grimson also recently started his "Doltish Villains Club" (or the "D.V.C." for short), having Andrew Zhu and Elegans as his "fellow dolts" or his "doltish villains". Mel Grimson randomly accepted Andrew Zhu as one of the members in his "Doltish Villains Club", saying "he could use a second dolt".
