A Daemon is an animal representation of the "soul" of a person. It must walk beside them at all times, and can not stray more than a few feet. It feels the pain of the individual and can speak to them telepathically. Daemons and their humans are very closely bonded, and need each other to survive. Male humans will have female Daemons, and female humans will have male Daemons.
