  1. "Hey Erica," he said, wincing at my appearance. "Alec, what are you doing here?" I asked him, not giving a damn weather I hurt his feelings or not at this point. "He's here to drive you back to the house. I have to take care of a few things beforehand Erica," he added when he saw the look on my face. I sighed. "Okay, but hurry up. I don't think I can be in that house by myself for a while." "I'll stay with her, you know. Until you get back or whatever," Alec volunteered. Jason nodded and looked back at me. "I shouldn't be long. Two hours, tops." He leaned toward me and kissed me ever so gently on my lips, just enough to feel the much-needed butterflies in my stomach. I smiled at him and he grinned back at me, knowing my thoughts exactly.
  2. I watched him as he disappeared into the shadows. Alec started the car and started down the road. It was awkwardly silent, and I knew that that kiss that I shared with Jason was the cause of it. Nothing could be fixed between Alec and I anymore, and that was that. "Erica, I'm sorry," Alec spoke softly after a few minutes of driving dangerously fast down curves and around bumps in the road. "Alec, don't. It's in the past." "Please, here me out," he said.
  3. I blew out a sigh. "Go ahead."
  4. I'm sorry. I regret every moment of everything I did to you. I didn't mean to ruin your wedding, reception, your youth or any part of your life for that matter. I was an ass." No kidding. I thought. "Cheyenne is dead by the way." This shocked me. "What?"
  5. He looked sort of somber, which aggravated me. "She died in a car accident last night. A drunk driver hit her and the car flipped seven times." "And the baby?" "Gone," he said. "By the time the medics showed up she had already been gone and so had the baby."
  6. From the glow of the dashboard I could tell that there were tears in his eyes. Absentmindedly, I took the hand that he wasn't driving with and squeezed it. Hey, even if I did hate the guy I still had a heart. "When?" I asked. "Last night," he answered. It was a very quiet ride home after that. Somehow he knew where the house was and drove right up to it. He parked infront of the garage and killed the engine.
  7. He helped me out of the car and I approached the house. I shakily put in the passcode on the keypad that was on the door. It buzzed, flashed a red light and denied my code. "What's wrong with it?" Alec asked. "Jason changed the code. Can I see your phone?" He took his iPhone out of his jacket and gave it to me. I dialed Jason's number and waited for him to answer. "Hello?" He sounded kind of mad. And out of it. "Babe, its me. What's the code to the house? It keeps denying me." It sounded like he was in some sort of empty room and was walking away or down the hall.
  8. "It's your birthday," he said. I heard the fury in his voice and knew that he was in the middle of either a) torturing Pancetta, or b) killing him. "Okay. I'll let you get back to whatever you're doing then," I said. "Erica?" "Yeah?" "I love you. Always remember that." "I love you too Jason," I said back, smiling to myself.
  9. He hung up and I gave Alec back his phone. He had this weird look on his face. Almost like he was disgusted. I turned back to the door and put in the four digits of my birthday; 5592. The little light played a little ding and went green. I turned the handle and walked into the foyer. I took a deep breath and walked into the livingroom, which was overlooking the kitchen. Memories of that horrible night came flooding back into my head and I nearly fell over. Alec was right behind me and luckily caught me. "Where's your room?" he asked, lifting me up into his arms. "Upstairs," I mumbled, having faintly heard him. Before I knew it, he was carrying me up the stairs and was looking around. "Left," I murmured. He found it and laid me gently down on the bed.
  10. I closed my eyes as I wrapped myself like a taco underneath the blankets and plopped my head down on my fluffy pillow. I heard Alec chuckle. "Some things never change," he said quietly. "Shut up," I mumbled, and was rewarded with yet another laugh. It was no sooner than that was when I fell fast asleep.
  11. I faintly remember someone climbing in the bed and bringing me closer to them. They wrapped their arms around my waist and held me really tight. I didn't object because I was half asleep. But as soon as I became a little more than half conscious of my surroundings, I shot up, out of the person's arms...mainly because I thought it was Alec trying to put the moves on me. In my own bed. And I'm married. That was not going to fly with me. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked loudly. "Sleeping with my wife," answered a confused Jason. "Is that against the law or something?" I almost laughed at my own foolishness. I lay back down and snuggled with him. I looked over at the glowing red numbers of the digital clock on the nightstand and it read 4:38. I figured that I could afford a little more sleep and dozed off.
  12. I woke up and I noticed that it was sunlight outside. Jason had apparently already gotten up so I went in the bathroom and took a long shower. Then I changed into some black skinny jeans and a red t-shirt that had a huge blue rose on it. I went downstairs and was surprised to see that Jason's dad was sitting at the dining room table. He was reading the newspaper and drinking what looked like coffee. Where he got it, I have no idea. Even the word coffee in my house is like the Devil himself. He looked up from his newspaper and smiled when he saw me. Without warning, he got up and bear-hugged me. "I was so worried that that ass would do something and hurt you." "I'm fine Armando," I said, laughing. "Good," he said, letting go of me. I sat down with him at the table, and Jason brought out a huge plate of pancakes with all the works. I kissed him and started digging into my meal. "So you took care of Pancetta?" I said, chewing a mouthful of sausage. "You could say that," Jason replied, oddly smirking while he sipped on a Monster.
  13. "What's done is done. It doesn't need to be brought up again," Armando said from behind the paper. I nodded and ate the rest of my food. When I was finished, I gathered up my plate and headed for the kitchen. All the sudden, I felt like I was going to barf. I ran to the bathroom that we had installed and did my business. "Are you okay?" I heard Jason ask from behind me. "Yeah, I'm fine," I said, reaching for a spare toothbrush on the counter. I slabbed some toothpaste on it and started rigorously brushing my teeth. "I must have eaten my food too fast or something," I mumbled, spitting out minty foam. I put the toothbrush away and went to sit in the livingroom, Jason trailing behind me the whole way.
  14. I flopped down on the couch and leaned against Jason's welcoming shoulder. I felt like a ton of bricks had just been dropped on my head. Armando didn't come in the livingroom so he just stayed in the dining room in peace, and Jason and I just sat on our couch, enjoying the quietness. At least, until it was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.
  15. *Okay. I know that this is the last thing you guys want to hear, but last night I spent thirty minutes crying like a baby because I finally finished the last chapter of UnWanted. There won't be a sequel and I ended it just how I wanted to. I'm so sad now because I've been writing theses stories since 7th grade and now I'm a sophomore in high school. :/ Anyways, feel free to threaten my life because I know I have it coming with the great Cliffy I wrote. :) *
