junior high word problems

On #4 the person that made this quiz put the wrong answer in the answer key. I know this because I am personally related to the person that created this quiz. He is my brother. I am sorry for any confusion this may have created. ~Ms. KnowItAll.

ok i didnt create this quiz but im going to help you understand #4 and #10 ok.#4 is -1 1/2 because when you have 3 apples ok your brothers eats 4 1/2 ok now put a - sigh in front of the 4 1/2 ok then bring down the - sigh to your answer ok the subtract 3 and it =s -1 1/2.#10 is 4x4 ok thats your box now your brothers is 1/2 of your box so first do 4x4=16 then divide 16 by 2 and you get 8 and 8 is your answer.

the answer to #10 would be 8 only if the box was 4X4X4, not 4X4

#4 doesn't make any sense.
