I've always wondered what true forgiveness is; these questions often stump me. 1) To forgive, do we have to forget as well, and if not is it meaningless? 2) In forgiveness, when we reflect on the past do we have to feel differently - positively? Do negative feelings mean forgiveness has not been achieved? 3) Are we meant to think differently about the situation/person when in reflection of the past? Feel free to expand on these questions. Your comments are appreciated.

| I don't know if I fully understand forgiveness. I agree with the person I'm "forgiving" that no action harming them in any way will be inflicted on account of the event. It's my closest approximation; I can't simply let it go. | |

| Foregiveness simply means to move on. Your opinions on the situation dont have to change and whether or not you remember it is your choice. To forgive is to move on in its simplist form. For one reason or another, to not agrivate the situation any further or to maturely put it aside. | |

| I agree with barberbob and sick, to truly forgive is to move on. The feelings may still be there, but forgiveness is just letting go and simply forgetting it as unimportant for the future. |
