Quiz Image

Okey, this is my first quiz/story. So please go easy! I will try to come out with the next one as soon as I can. This story is about a girl named Amber and she has a troubled past. It does not come out and tell it right away, because she talks about over time - when she gets over to her trust issues.

Are you ready for...
Our "When Will I Die" Quiz?

  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. "Amber could you man the front desk. Josh got sick and I had to send him home." Mr.McClain poked his head around the wall. I put the book on my lap. "Sure Mr.McClain. I don't mind." He looked like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He puffed a sigh of relief. "Thanks Amber." And with that he was gone. Probably to his office where he practically lived now a days. I put my book in my locker and locked it with my purple lock. Everyone else had a gray or blue one but I had convinced Mr.McClain to let me have a diffrent colored one. Only as long as I bought it - which I guess was fair enough.
  2. Before I leave I check myself in the mirror by the door. My black hair is pulled into a low ponytail, heightening my facial features. My eyes are almond shaped with long eyelashes that guys always got and almost no girls had. My eyes are a diffrent color, bright blue with silver around my pupils. My full lips are a deep pink - even though I never wear make-up. I staighten the name tag on my shirt and walk out the door.
  3. The front desk is the best place to work. People don't really bother you and don't pay you attention either. I put my password into the computer and wait for it to load. My employee account comes up and it tells everything about me. Most of its a lie that's on there. Like who my parents are and my last name is diffrent. I sigh - again wishing for the zillionth time that my life could be normal and all I had to worry about was grades at school and what I'll do when I'm older. I hear Tyler dismissing his class and soon the lobby is full with body's trying to leave faster than everybody else. Someone puts there hands over my eyes. "Guess who?" I laugh. Tyler is such a idiot. "Umm, is it the really annoying karate tecaher?" I ask. He chuckles and lets me see again. "Sure if you want to call me that. But I like the title 'Sexy karate teacher' way better." He comes around to the front. "But it wouldn't fit on a name tag so I think I'll stick with my real name." Suddenly his phone rings and I jump. "Little jumpy?" He wiggles his eyebrows at me. I cross my arms over my chest. "Just answer that dang phone." He takes his phone out and groans. "Its Kelly. Again." I have to cough to cover my laugh. Kelly is his reall pushy girlfriend. She calls him everyday. And everyday I try telling him that he should break up with her. But the only response I get is, 'I know, but I want to wait to break up with her.' It so does not make sense, but I can hardly say anything. He shoves the phone into my hands. "Please answer it for me." I give him my famous 'Why?' look. "Just say that I'm talking to the boss." I flip open the phone. "Hi Kelly." There's a pause and then, "Amber, is that you? Where's Tyler?" "He's talking to our boss." "Wait, why would you pick up the phone?" She has anger laced in her voice. "I heard the phone ringing and picked it up. Ya' know, just in case it was important." Man, she is a hard person to convince. "Well tell him that I called." And with that she hung up. I hand back his phone. "What did she want?" "If you want to know, then call her back." He scowles at me. "Come on. You know how Kelly can be. She is really getting on my nerves and I think I'm gonna brake up with her soon." I do my best-bad face of surprise. "Really? But Kelly is so nice." A paper hits me in the face. I peel it off to see Tyler laughing at me. "Sorry. I couldn't help myself. YOU got on my nerves." I sniff the air. It smells clean and fresh with only a hint of mint. Not at all like a bunch of sweaty people just had walked out of here. "You really shouldn't use those powers in here, and we both promised not to use them while at work." He just smiled that cocky smile. "Come on, lighten up. Or mabey you can teach me a few moves." "Go to hell." I muttered. "Sorry," He put his hand behind his ear, "what did you say?" That's when I saw four guys walk in. "Nothing. Make yourself scarce. Some people need to work." I stand and push on his shoulders to make him leave. It doesn't work so I push him harder - while using air - and he jumps a good three inches back. He just smiles. "That's my girl." And with that he walks back into his dojo.
  4. Each one is dressed in a TIGHT black shirts and Levi jeans. The one with black hair seems to be the one in charge. I mentally smile. Four guys is enough trouble, but three guys following one guy is just a bomb with a short fuse. Black hair walks up to me while the other guys act like his shadow - there but eerily silent. "How may I help you?" It comes out automatically and I nearly gag at how sweet I sound. I wonder if I always sound like that. I make a note to ask Tyler - that is of I can get a straight answer from him. He leans on the counter, suddenly to close to me. I want to back up a little, but I couldn't do that without making the move look rude. "Yeah." his breath hits my face like a hot tornado. I smell the damp earth and smoking wood. What the hell? I seriously doubt that this guy ate wood and dirt - but that is all I can smell. I let myself fall into the smell - its a wonderful familiar smell that reminds me of were I use to live. And then the smell is gone. His light brown eyes bore into mine. "Well I was wondering if we," he jerks his head in the direction of the other guys. The one with ginger colored hair is looking at me with such concertration that I start squirming, "would like to sign up for a...class." I nod my head. I really doubt that want to do that, but I hand him four clipboards with the information papers on them. They go and sit down at a table - bent over and writing quite fast on them. Out of the corner of my eye I see Tyler poking his head out of the dojo doorway. I catch his eye and he mouths, 'Who are they?' I shrug. He looks at the guys and his eyes widened a little. My face must be a huge question mark to him because he mouths 'Look through the veil' and ducks back into the dojo. Look through the veil? Did he mean that these guys could be monsters or that they had powers they didn't know about? I blink twice and focus on the energy that is always around everything. The veil disappears completely and I look at the guys. My mouths falls open and I have to snap it close in case one of them looks over hear. Most humans don't have one color auras - and if they do they either have powers that they don't know of - or they are special. Most of the famous humans have singel auras. Black hair has a chocolate aura that looks solid but then it ripples at the edges. The guy that sits on black hair's left has shagy brown hair that seems like it won't stop trying to swallow his eyes. But that doesn't stop the sea green of his eyes to come out. He really is cute - just like the rest of them. His aura is a sapphire blue that licks his skin like fire. One of them has a bright orange aura that catches my eye. He has sandy colored hair and deep brown eyes. His aura is almost to bright and I find myself squinting. His aura sits on him like a second skin. The last guy is the ginger haired guy. His gray eyes were looking over his paper - and thankfully not on me. He has a purple aura that is so deep and pretty that I can't stop looking at him.
  5. I don't know how long I stared at them but the next thing I know black hair stands up and starts walking toward me. I look down quickly and hope they can't see me blush. Black hair hands me his clipboard and I see that his name is Riley. Huh. He really doesn't look like a Riley. The other guys hand me theirs and I find out there names. Brown hair is Eric, Sandy guy is Sam, and Ginger is Trey. Trey, Sam, and Eric still stand behind Riley - again. "We would all like to do the hardest thing here. And what ever it is we all catch on fast." His lips twiched into a smile - probley because of the look on my face. I never had so many people try to do sword fighting at once. At first I fell bad for who ever teaches that - but with a sinking felling I remember I do that. Why couldn't take archery instead? That was the other thing I taught, but I would feel alot better if I didn't have to give four teenagers REAL swords. I kept my pocker face - or what was left of it - and nodded. "That would sword fighting. Just follow me." And with that I walked out of the building through the back door. They all followed me, moving a little louder than was really nesscary. Mabey it was me - I always walked quietly - and if people weren't quiet like me I thought they were loud. The wind was powerful, blowing my hair in my face. I started to slowly close my right hand - and the wind became a little better. We pasted the archery "classroom". It was a huge field outside that was by the dense trees. It was a small forest - not big enough for large animals to live in but big enough for smaller anomals to. "How teaches that?" I stopped because it wasn't Riley that had asked. FOr the first time I heard Trey talk. "Umm, the archery?" I looked behind my back, seeing they had all stopped to look at the targets and the bows lined up in a row. I made a mental note to take care of those after these guys were gone. "Yeah." Trey nodded still looking at the bows by him. "I actually do," then I added before they could ask anything, " I also teach the sword fighting class." Then I started walking. They quickly catch up and we walk into the small room. There's a wall made up mirrors, a small office - were all weapons are hidden - and the floor was padded. I tell guys to stay put and dissapear into the office. Grabing four foils and one Sabra for myself. I have my hand on the door handel when I hear voices. "Mabey we should just make our move know, she is pretty skinny. Mabey we should-" "No," someones cuts of the voice, "we need to know if she's a threat." My head fills with questions. How is 'she'? Why are they talking like that? Should I tell them to leave or teach them? The girly part of me - which I thought that had dies long ago - came out. 'There cute,' the voice sounds squeaky and b----y, 'just teach them.' So, I walk out into mates and hand each of them a foil. "Alright. Let's start."
  6. Closing my eyes I let go of the arrow and hear it hit the target with a thunk. All my arrows have landed there so far and digging them out will be a pain. But all in all it will be worth it. Archery has alwys been my saving grace since... No I won't think of it. Sighing, I walk toward the target. Behind me I hear a branch brake and I twril around. Holding my breath I look for any movement - but in the dark its hard to see. I smell it before I see it. The wind carries the smell of an bonfire, smokey and out of control. Then something steps out of the trees. The head is made of swrily fire, forming a large head of a wolf. The body is made of water, waves crashing onto each other on its chest. The front legs are made of dirty air and the back ones of solid rock. The thing howls and it sounds almost like a human. I nearly yell. The beast is outlined in four diffrent colors. There's purple, orange, brown, and saphirre. Where have I seem this before...ah hell. The four guys that came in had the same color auras. Well perfect. Mabey I was the girl that they had talked about eariler. Well they have underestimated me big time. I swing the bow and arrows over my shoulder. The small bag that hides the arrows is made of worn leather, making the air around me smell of it. The beast growls when I move forward. But I don't stop. Don't let the beast think I'm afraid of it - when I really am. I stop five feet from it, squaring my feet of in case I need to run. I smile at the wolf-ish thing, and that is all it takes. It charges, head bowed, picking up speed. I wait until the hot breath of the thing hits my skin, and leap in the air. The wind wips my hair around my face. I land semi-quiet, thankful for the loud wind. The beast seems confused, looking for me. If it looks behind itself, then the firey head will face me. I think of the powers that I have. It they guys can see me then they will see my powers. And if they see my powers, well it won't be good. One. I'll use one of them instead of all four. I let the cool rush of power wash over me, looking for one feeling. I can smell sea water and sand there. I let that scent fill me. The beast spins behnd itself, but I'm ready. I let water shoot form my hands, hitting the thing square in the forhead. It yells - or howls would be a better word for it. The animal starts bucking, making it look like a firework on the ground. I run toward it - every instinct yelling at me to stop and run the other way - and grab its head.
  7. I dig my fingers into the animal's head, making sure not to lose concentration. The thing starts going crazy, jerking its head, trying to force me to let go . I don't. Instead I get small images as I dig deeper into its mind.I lose sensation, not feeling anything, not seeing anything. I sit there in blackness, fighting back the panic. Then slowly, I see something. Four guys are sitting in a clearing, surrounded by trees and fallen logs. They have there eyes pinched close, and there sitting in four diffrent cicrles. Fire, water, air, and earth. I pull back, and gasp. I'm in the dirt, flat on my back. The wolf-ish thing is standing over me, but not moving. What the hell? I scoot back, causung dirt to streak my clothes. Oh well. Clothes are mostly washable. I stand slowly, hoping that I won't fall over on my face. The thing is still frozen. Huh. I go over to it and tap it's head. Still nothing. Hmm. Well the four guys must still be where they were and when I got there, they are in trouble. I walk quickly into the small forest, trying not to make noise. Then I see it. Even though I always walked here, I've never seen the clearning. The trees are in a perfect circle surrounding a dirt ground. And sitting in there are the four guys that had asked for lessons. Each sit in their own circle made of an element, eyes still closed. What happened? I hadn't done that - had I? No that can't even been done. They were somehow frozen - just like the thing was. Well they were in for a ride. I put the bag down on the ground, digging at the bottom. I feel the soft silk and pull it out. It was a gift from Tyler. It covered my nose and mouth letting only my eyes be seen. And I was already wearning the rest of the outfit. I pull the thing over my head and pull it up to my nose. I always wore it under my clothes when I go to work and wear it when I walk home. Tyler got it for me because he said it would help if I got in a fight. Well he was right. The outfit was made of black silk and looked like a ninja outfit, only more tight fitting. I also blend into the dark and the thing is so light feeling that I could hop the buildings to my place if I wanted to. I breath through my nose and let all of the elements wash over me. Darkness dances at the edges of my vision. Darkness. I'm always shocked by the power of it all, the way I feel when all four of the powers go through me - and them some. I can feel the earth below me, taste the summer air, hear the ocean crashing on the beach, and I can see the air outlined in diffrent, bright colors. Then, with a flick of my wrist I change each of the guys element circle. Each of the circles become the opposite of its self. Water becomes fire, air becomes earth, fire becomes water, and earth is air. The guys each open there eyes and look frantic. I hide behind a tree, hugging its rough bark. It's clear that they are each in pain, not a lot of pain, but enough for each of them to swear every colorful words. "What the hell?" Riley tries steanding up but can't move. I try not to smile, I know its bad but it actually look funny from this angle. "What happened? What - ow!" Eric is able to stand up making me frown. I close my hands into fists, making Eric's face twist into pain. Okey, now I feel bad, but the feeling is gone when I remember what they tried to do. "Okey, what's happening? How did she do that?" Sam asks. I take this moment to step out of behind the tree, making them all freeze. I wonder if they can see me. "You really should'nt be messing around like that." My voice comes out a little rough, and I can't even tell that I'm taking. "Who are you? What have you done to use? Where is the -" I hold up my hand, causing Riley to shut up. "I should be asking the questions. You are not in a position to start asking questions, are you? I have reversed the circles on you. So if you start making any sudden movement's," I look over at Eric, "well, we all saw what I could do to him." I point to him. They all swear, and Eric;s eyes are starting to look like a deer's.
  8. I hear him before I see him. He hardly makes noise, but my hearning is very good. I turn and smile, even though he can't see it. "Well, well. I have not seen you in a while." Mark steps out of the shadows, his hair dark as ash. Behind me I hear Riley shout at Mark. "Mark! Help us!" But he just laughs. Mark looks about nineteen, but I know he is a lot older than that. His eyes are blacker than night, just like his hair. He's tall and very tan, almost like a surfer that stayed out to long. He's wearing all black, black shirt, black jeans, but his shoes are bright orange. "I'm impressed," Mark looks at the guys then to me, " I thought that they were a little better. But again, you have proven me wrong. How many does that make?" "Forty." I say. We have had this little compition going on for a few years, he always thinks that I can't do anything, even though I know that he has a lot more confindence in me. I think its because he's like a big brother to me. Mark looks up to the guys and laughs. I turn around to see they each ahve a worried expression on their fave, like we are going to kill them or something. I can't help it. I laugh too. It makes their expressions worse, and we both burst out into fits of laughter. "What the?" Eric looks over at Riley, but Riley is frozen in either fear or confusion. "Al-Alright. Let them go." Mark is wiping his eyes. I nod but look back at him. "They don't know who I am. Don't say anything ok?" I bearly say it but I know he'll hear it. Mark nods, a mask of complete seriousness on his face now. I walk over to them, my eyes not betraying anything. "Get away." Trey hisses at me. "Do you want me to let you out or would you like me to amp up the pain?" I have him now. His shoulders slump, his head falls. I wave my hand over the four circles and they dissaper. Something crashes into me. I fly back and hit a tree, looking up just in time to see Riley launch his self at me. I jump and let air carry me up into the tree, then jump three trees over. Riley stops and looks up in teh tree. I stay were I am, watching him. Mark yells at Riley. "What are you doing?!?" "She attacked us." He said simply and lit the tree on fire. I gasp, and throw water onto the tree. It fizzles and then goes out. I jump from the tree and land like a frog. On my hands and legs. I I hear him before I see him. He hardly makes noise, but my hearning is very good. I turn and smile, even though he can't see it. "Well, well. I have not seen you in a while." Mark steps out of the shadows, his hair dark as ash. I stratien out and glare at Riley, who still is looking at the blackened tree in amazment. "Did that tree do something to you? Because you don't go around blowing them up." He turns and looks at me with daggers in his eyes. "You little bi -" Mark grabs Riley from behind, just as he throws fire my way. I do a back-flip in the air and bearly miss the fire. "Damn it Riley! You don't go around throwing fire at people." Mark has Riley in a head lock, but Riley is struggling like crazy. "She could kill you with her eyes dude. I'm not kidding. If you want to be on her good side then you better stop acting like a a--hole." Riley stops moving, but he keeps looking at me. "What do you mean? She can't be capable of that." Sam asks. I totally forgot about them. I look there way and see that there all staring at me with awe in ther eyes. "Thanks Mark. I just wanted to be put on the spot." Eric comes toward me. "Who are you? I have never seen anyone out do Riley." "Don't go any closer!" Riley yells. Eric doesn't stop though. He gets about two feet from me. Well here I go. I pull the thing that hides my face and let hair out. Eric looks at me closer then his eyes get a whole lot bigger. "You?" His mouth falls at least down to his chin. Sam comes behind Eric, who is still frozen. "Wait. You did kill the wolf. I could have swore that you ran from it." "Nope," I say, " I don't run or hide. I fight." Trey walks over to Riley. Mark looks at Riley. "Will you behave? Or does your ass need to be taught a lesson?" Riley nods. "I'll be good." Mark lets go of him, and He rubs his arms. "So," Mark comes over to me and puts his arm around my shoulder, " this little beauty is Amber." I throw him a look that could kill. "Why are you here?" I ask pulling his arm off of my shoulder. "Well I kinda sent these jokers to test you. They didn't believe me when I told them that you were important." Trey comes over to me. "He said that you needed protection." "Why?" I nearly scream at Mark. "Well," he rubs the back of his neck, " remember two years ago?" My hand automatically flys to my neck. I can feel the long line that runs from behind my ear to my shoulder. I shudder, remembering how I got that scar. "What about it?" I whisper. Mark sighs. "Well I need these guys to protect you. They were testing you with that wolf. For there benfit. Like I said before, they didn't believe what I said about you being powerful." Eric comes over to Mark. "No. I don't need four babysitters. I can take care of myself. I have sience I was six." And with that I walk back to the main building.
  9. I go in to the locker room and grab my purse. Stupid guys, I think, I don't need babysitters. I walk out the front doors and lock up. I pull back on my little mask and start running down the street. I start thinking about me nearly dying two years ago. I think of Thanatos. The way his spirt felt in my soul, the way the darkness wrapped around me. And I think of the way having darkness in me felt so right. It sounds weird, even to me, but the feeling was so unbelievable. It was pure power, and it tasted bitter sweet, like posion and sugar. It was like a drug that makes you feel like nothing can touch you, that your a god. Foucs. I shake my head, and make a sharp turn to the left. There. I can see my aparment building. Not the trashy one, but one that rich people could live in. I stop outside the doors and open them. No one's at the front desk. The person is probley on break, or just not carning. I walk and push the elevator button. The soft clink sounds that its hear and the doors open soundless. I push number four and wait for the doors to close. At the last moment I see a old man running to me. "Hold the doors!" he yells and I push the button so they stay open. He hurrys in and the doors close taking us up. "Could you push number three please?" he asks me. I do and he smiles. He looks closer at me. "Hey, were you at a party or something?" I shake my head no and relize too late that I'm still in my ninja get-up. He mummbles something about the youth of today and the doors open. "Floor three." A cool woman's voice announces, causing the awkward slience to break. He nearly runs out and the doors close again. I wait for the doors to open for my floor and hear the same lady telling me the floor number.I walk down the hall, the lights blazing bright. I find the door nimbered 409, one of the best suites. Unlocking the door I step in and turn the light on. I walk down the small hallway to my bedroom. The walls are painted a soft grey, reminding me of stars and the moon. The bedsheets are a dark red, almost as dark as blood. The curtains match the bed, and the desk is made of cherry wood. I thrown my bag onto the bed and open the door to the bathroom. Its made of black granite, small golden flecks imbeded into the black rock. I turn the water on for a shower and grap on of the overly fluffly robes. I un-dress and step into the hot water, washing today's dirt and memories away.
  10. I lay in bed, wearing a cami and spankies. I watch the clock turn minutes. 11:12, 11:14, 11:23. I fall asleep watching the numbers disappear, wishing I could.
  11. Crash! My eyes snap open. I hold my breath, scaning my room. Its to dark to see anything, but I can see a outline in the other room. "Shhh!" Someone's hisses. I watch as something reaches for the door handel, and watch as it slowly turns down.
