Could we maybe discuss the pros and cons of each?
-
i'm inclined to say discord since you could share media much more easily but i also know some people don't have/are uncomfortable with discord
-
Absolutely!
I'll tell y'all what I know, and anyone is free to raise any concerns/ask any questions/add any details I miss. ^-^
Spoon
Spoon is a radio hosting app/website. There's a group call feature I would recommend for this, that let's everyone talk in real time, like a big group phone call. People can mute themselves to better listen to whoever is performing, and there's a text chat that can be used simultaneously. There's no support for images though, so art would be off the table. Furthermore, there's a character limit in chat, which would make sharing creative writing difficult for anyone that doesn't want to use their voice.
Discord
Most of you already know Discord. It has much wider functionality, allowing images and screen sharing, so art would be an option if we used this one. There's also voice channels, so we're still up for singing and presenting poetry too. Much bigger character limit, as opposed to Spoon, for text, as well, so possibly longer poems or short stories? I don't know, the more I talk about it, the more this seems like the one to use lmao
Gotoquiz
Since this site's primary means of communication is text, just about everything would have to be done through secondary sites like Vocaroo and Postimages. This would be the most accessible option, though, so there's am argument for it, too. -
I personally vote discord since the UI is a lot cleaner and we won't have to worry about account permissions. The only way I think GoToQuiz would work is if there was a formal submissions option so account ranks wouldn't be a problem.
-
Oh! That's a good suggestion.
-
I like the official submission idea
-
I thought spoon was just a random word you added to the poll for funnies 💀
-
It's looking like we're leaning toward keeping it here on Gotoquiz. Would everyone be okay with emailing their submissions, or does anyone have any other ideas?
