whOA EXCUSE ME
Media pressures women to conform to beauty standards that are gender-neutral, literally aim the pressure at women.
It's not as easy as "not buying the stuff." Media tells you that if you don't buy it, you're worthless. And it's not just one ad that makes you believe it. The subtle sexism that you see in media as you grow up severely impacts your self-image. Women are taught that they're worthless unless they're "pretty" and thin.
But no, we should clearly just stop buying the stuff.
Thing is, it's our choicewhether we want to wear makeup, shave, etc., but media tells us we have to or we're not "pretty." Women hate themselves because of this. Anyone of any gender has the choice to do these things, and yet the pressure is aimed toward women.
This also hurts men because they're made fun of for wearing makeup, shaving, etc. Why? Because it's aimed at women. Have you ever seen a makeup commercial with men actually wearing lipstick and eyeshadow? No.
But obviously you wouldn't understand how pressured women feel because you don't face the same pressures we do. If you really think it's easy for us not to buy products that media tells us we're ugly if we don't buy, then you clearly don't understand. -
brb btw, dinner

Otherwise you become a selfish a--hole. -
Uh no. Don't listen to people who tell you you're worthless just so they can make money. f--- their opinions. You're gorgeous *kissy face*
