If there was a forum where you could private message up to 4 people at a time and only people with the rank of a junior could do it.

Honestly, P.M.ing is one of the greatest ideas this site could use, but many users are whiny that it'll 'break down what's left of GTQ'. I know of a site that has a very prominent Private Messaging system and it's busiest forum scarcely shows a last post of over 3 minutes ago.

This site is pretty much broken. The people that do come new leave lots of mistakes on this site, making it a hell hole in my opinion.

This has been suggested forty million (number may be a bit dramatic) times before. It's not a good idea. It will only lead to trouble.

Most forums have private messaging, I don't see how it could be a bad idea.

Because this particular forum is full of people who would conspire against one another in any way possible. All for the dramatics, I can see people taking advantage of this to plan mass harassment schemes, hacking, spamming and/or trolling.. If not that, then no one would socialize and the forums would be completely obsolete.

How about have certain boards that require you to be a certain rank? It"s a step to private messaging but like TheColdestSun says, putting a full-on PM system would just cause problems.

Out of about 4 major sites with P.M.'s I've seen, nothing like that has happened. At-least no way linked to the P.Ms. What the f---... -
I'm kinda agreeing with Ultra/Joker. Two sites that I regularly visit have a personal messaging system. Hey, what about this.
Private Messaging systems can only be viewed by Moderators? That way random people won't go in trolling, but if some-thing's up, a Moderator could, say, give a link to it to expose them?
Besides, if people wanna plan on how to hack, they could just go to another site or e-mail.

Just so we understand I'm voting yes for pms but the majority of people on gtq are the kind of people that would do these things. I've never been bombarded or harassed on the sites I'm on with pms but they are mostly older more mature people.

Most other sites have active forum staff (volunteer of course) and not filled with trolls and users with malicious intent. Also the current forum staff powers are an easy to bypass system
