  1. I almost cried. Did what we have mean nothing to him? Was it my fault because I didn't kiss him? Was it...? I sat there for ten minutes straight. If Alex can move on that fast, so can I. In fact, I'm just going to pretend it doesn't affect me at all. I made sure my eyes weren't all red and puffy before I went downstairs. I plastered on a smile and jumped on the couch, flipping the t.v on, where Alex was eating a sandwich at the table. He was watching me probably wondering why I was smiling like an idiot. Loosen up, I told myself. Casualty is key. I did what my mind told me and I was set in Chill Mode. Not a care in the world.
  2. I spent three hours watching t.v and by six I decided I'd get ready now. I walked upstairs and saw Alex dressed up and ready to leave. "Going somewhere?" I asked him. "Sam and I are going to play mini golf. Wanna come?" "No, I have my own plans with Ch—April," I said. I didn't have the guts to tell him about Christofer. I wanted to rub him in his face, but I also had to keep him a secret or else Alex would do some crazy non sense to ruin everything. "Oh, okay then." I walked past Alex into my room. I put on something casual, yet not casual enough for school. I put a dash of lavender on and did my hair. I looked pretty good, so I went downstairs to wait for Christofer. The doorbell rang, so I went on to answer it with Alex right behind me.
  3. "Hi, Sam!" I don't know why, but whenever I lay my eyes on Sam, my mood lightens up, my troubles are put behind me, and I don't have a care in the world but him and me. "Hi, are you coming with us?" "No, I'm going somewhere with April tonight," I replied. Alex brushed past me and said, "Okay, be careful." I nodded, said bye to Sam and then closed the door. I slumped down on the couch and debated in my head whether or not I should bring a bag with me so I could bring pepper spray or something like that that could protect me. It's not like Christofer's trying to kill me, I thought. He saved my life. "Who's April?" Auntie Lisa asked, appearing from the kitchen. "Um, she's one of my friends at school," I replied. I didn't want to tell Auntie Lisa either because I knew she was going to tell Alex. Okay, so what's the plan?
  4. When the doorbell rings, slip out fast and avoid showing Christofer at all. Yeah, good idea. Auntie Lisa went off into the kitchen again and then the door bell rang. Perfect timing. I fast walked to the door, and announced that I was leaving. Then without further consultation I flew the door open and slammed it shut. "Wow, you're more excited than I thought you'd be," Christofer said with a smile. "Actually, no one knows I'm with you, they think I'm with April. Where are we going anyways?" Hopefully someplace with light and a lot of people. Christofer started walking to his car and then opened the passenger door for me. "We're going to Mulligans."
  5. Mulligans is a normal place with normal people and normal fun, games, and rides. And there's also a lot of families and kids there, so there's reliable witnesses if anything happens. Christofer's choice of vehicle was a black BMW with comfy leather seats and a scent of pomegranate in it. "So um...why did you leave right after the carnival?" Christofer put the car in drive and laughed. "We haven't even started driving yet and you're already asking questions?" U blushed a little and said, "The only reason I went in the first place was to get some answers, so sorry." We started driving and for a few minutes there was just silence. "I left because I wanted to find out who tried to kill you before they got away."
  6. "What do you mean, trying to kill me?" Christofer's grip on the steering wheel tightened and then relaxed. "That safety bar didn't just give way by itself. I think someone hexed it." A cold shiver went through my spine. "Wait, do you know about...me and Alex and my family and stuff? Are you human or no?" The corners of his lips curved up into a smile. "Yeah. You probably don't know this but whenever someone new moves into this city that has something to do with paranormal stuff the Supernatural Community is notified." "So what are you?" "I'm an Astrobit." "Never heard of it." Christofer smirked. "We're rare. It basically means I have the power to control and defy gravity." That's pretty bad ass. "Oh that's cool. But back to the main question: somebody was trying to kill me?" Christofer turned left and said, "It's not that you're necessarily a target, it might have been just a prank, but still, you could've died." "And you left because you wanted to try and catch who it was?" "Yup."
  7. I sensed there was more to it, but Christofer's expression and tone of voice told me otherwise. "Why did you want to take me out?" I asked him just out of curiosity. "So we could talk someplace outside of school. Besides, I like being with you." I felt my face growing hot. "Is this like, a date?" Christofer grinned as he parked the car. "Only if you want it to be."
  8. I got out and felt the cool Winter wind kiss my skin gently. Christofer opened the door for me as we walked into Mulligans to get our bracelets for the rides. The place was crowded with teenagers and I could make out a few familiar faces from school. Christofer and I went out and I looked around the park to where we should go first. "Race cars?" He suggested. Exactly what I was thinking. I nodded and we waited in line. "Why don't you and Alex like each other?" Christofer shifted uncomfortably. "When I first met him he tried reading my mind. I could feel him trying to get into my head, but I learned how to block some mind readers. I guess he freaked out when he couldn't read my mind and so now I'm the suspicious suspect." That made sense. "Can I ride with you?" I asked. I didn't like driving the race cars, but I liked being in them. My feet couldn't really reach the pedals and the car would always crash into the tires which angered me. "Sure." I slid in next to him and put on my seat belt. I read the sign on the bumper of the car in front of us saying 'NO BUMPING CARS'. Well that's no fun. "Do you parents work for the UPA too?" I asked him while we were waiting for the other passengers to load into their car. "Um, no. We're not too big on that." "Why not?" "Because my parents don't approve of their tactics sometimes." I decided not to consult any further into the topic because it felt like a touchy subject for him. We started driving around in silence. But even if nobody was talking, I felt important. Valuable; cared for; safe.
  9. We hit the car in front of us on accident and it made me jump. "Sorry. The people in front of us are really slow." I hit him lightly on the arm. "They might hear you!" "They were intended to," he replied with a slight smile. "Any more questions?" I was wondering whether or not I should tell him about my dream, but it might freak him out. "No." "Good, now we can just chill." I smiled. Christofer, Mulligans, and me. I'll take it as a date. We got out of the car and walked over to the ride where you go in a paddle boat and then try to squirt the other people with the water. Before I got in the boat, Chrsitofer held me by the elbow and said, "I should warn you, I have pretty good aim." I laughed. "Puh-lease. My mom's an Aquavibe. Water is my best friend." He winked and then went into his boat while I went in mine. The seat was wet, but I didn't mind because I was going to get wet eventually too. The lady running the game gave us a nod and I started paddling around like crazy. I looked around the battle field for Christofer. And then I had a small spasm because of the cold water that hit my back. I turned around and saw Christofer in his boat laughing. I paddled my boat around and bombarded him with water. Before he could retaliate, I paddled over by the small fountain and thought of a game plan. He was coming over from the left, so I went back right. The water from the fountain splashed me, but it was whatever; I made it look like it was meant to happen. I had water in my eyes so I stopped paddling for a little so I could wipe it and then suddenly a bunch of water was shot at me, but it wasn't from Christofer.
  10. There was this kid who looked about 12 and he had the most annoying expression as he squirted water at Christofer too.I gave Christofer a look and he nodded. Yup, we double teamed the punk. I guess the kid got annoyed so he paddled over to me really fast and then hit my boat on the side. I wasn't expecting it, so I kind of fell in the water. I could hear him laughing while I bopped my head out. He was so lucky he was only ten. Christofer came paddling towards me with a grin on his face. "It's not a swimming pool." I sneered and matter of factly said, "I know, I was just seeing if there was a port hole under here to go to Narnia." Our time was up for the ride and we got some towels from the stand and dried off. I flipped my head over to dry my hair off, and as I straightened back up I saw Christofer squeezing his shirt to try and get the excess water out from it. I tried not looking at his body but it was like telling a penguin not to eat any fish. Christofer noticed me staring and gave me a crisp smile before I turned away, my face red. We were quite damp still, but we started walking to go to the next activity. "Mini golf?" Christofer asked. Oh no. "Um, is this the only place where they have mini golf?" Please say no, please say no. "Yeah, the other places are like 2 hours away. Why?" Shucks. "Just wondering. I'm actually kind of hungry right now." "Yeah, no problem." We were about to walk back inside when I saw Alex and Sam eating a table through the window. I stopped Christofer before he could open the door and said, "Actually, we should just play some mini golf so we don't have to go back and forth, you know?" Christofer shrugged. "Alright, I'll go in and get the clubs and—" "I'll go! You invited me here and payed for my admission so it's the least I can do. Just sit here and wait for me, don't worry." "Are you sure?" "I insist!"
