  1. You earned ten dollars from babysitting, and it's just enough to buy that skirt you wanted. But then you see a poor starving girl your age with nothing to eat. You used your ten dollars to get her something to eat.
  2. Your mom promised to go to the mall with you today. But it turns out she's sick. Instead of going to the mall, you stay home to take care of her.
  3. You promised your sister you'd play with her, but now you're tired and really don't feel like it. You play with her anyway, since you promised.
  4. You see that your little brother is in trouble. You are really scared to go out there and help him, because you're afraid you'll get hurt, too, but you go out and help him anyway.
  5. You got a box of gourmet chocolates. Your little sister asks you if she can have one. You give her one.
  6. Your mom comes home from work one day really exhausted. You offer to take care of everything tonight that she'd normally take care of and let her rest.
  7. Chocolate ice cream is your dad's favorite. You and your dad go to the freezer to get some and realize there's only one bite left. You let him have it.
  8. You have a broken leg and you and your best friend are trying to get out of the house to avoid burning up and dying. You are slowing her down. You say, "Leave me here.I'll get out as fast as I can by myself. Go save yourself. I don't want us both to die because of me."
  9. Both you and others agree that you are not selfish.
