  • I got Sartre/Camus

The world is absurd. No facts govern it. We live well once we truly accept the world's absurdity. YOU give our life's meaning, and YOU control your world. (see Nietzsche for very closely tied beliefs) --This quiz was made by S. A-Lerer.

  • Please edit before posting---poor English does not make you sound like you know what you are talking about. Made up words don't help either. Some corrections I remember:

accurately. Different. It's= it is, its= possessive. Empirical. Imitation. Depicts. Algid??? Fulgid???

  • Haha. Great quiz. I got Aristotle, which probably fits me well because I aspire to be a scientist.

"Trut h does not exist in some transcendent realm. We get to truth by applying reason to the physical world. The world follows logic and commonsense. Science if done properly is not to far from philosophy. --This quiz was made by S. A-Lerer."

  • Excellent quiz. The research was well done, although I feel you pegged me off a bit. I find that I align with Nietzsche better than Kant.

  • lol, my idea of life is rather... different. To say the world is absurd is stupid as absurd is not normal. The usual standard ie. our universe is normal. I just have weird expectations, there's a difference.

  • I almost literally melted my brain taking this quiz. That's why I'm not a philosopher, and never will be. I will not spend all of my life thinking about "what's the meaning of life", "is God real?", "is life based on truthes or science" etc. I'll just live life to the fullest, and enjoy it as much as I can before it's all over.

  • I agree with Kantbedone. I am familiar with most individuals mentioned in this quiz, and agree most closely with the beliefs of Immanuel Kant. However, this pegged me as Late Wittgenstein.

Al so, you absolutely should have included Rob Pirsig.

  • In my view of life, truth is one way to see the world. Tere is no absolute truth, so why do I wish to become a lawyer?

  • Poorly made quiz. It's clear the creator has a VERY basic understanding of philosophers and thought it would be fun to include the "big words" he learned to make his quiz seem intelligent. The creator of the quiz was banking on the general ignorance of the masses. Please learn to proof your typing.

  • Typical internet quiz - range of answers for a lot of the questions doesn't cover all possibilities and forces you to choose between two that both half-fit your beliefs. And, S A-Lerer, learn to spell, or proof-read! And why can't I be Bertie Russell, or Feuerbach, or Marx? (Or Jack Smart?)

  • Your Result: Immanuel Kant

There are things in themselves, but they are unimportant to us. We must interpret everything through certain immutable categories, such as time and the laws of physics. All rational animals must see the world through these categories, and what they see is unrelated to the things in themselves. --This quiz was made by S. A-Lerer.

    Aristotle
    Plato (strict rationalists)
    Early Wittgenstein / Positivists
    W.v.O. Quine / Late Wittgenstein
    Nietzsche
    Sartre/Camus (late existentialists)

I *think* the result fits me, although I can't be sure. My result and some of the questions and answers were a bit hard to understand and wrap my mind around. But an excellent quiz nonetheless.

    Seven stars.
