  • Is it possible to see or share the description of all others? I'm particularly curious about Wing Chun.

  • I got Aikido. It sounds fascinating, I might have to give it a try. Thanks for the quiz, I have some good ideas of what I might try now.

    • Hello! Wing Chun is an uncommon style of defense because it requires quick adaptibility. Not everyone has it in them. :)

It seems like your kinda like me as far as martial arts is concerned. For someone like you,I would recommend jui jitsu or karate. If your like me,a stephen seagul kinda guy,I recommend karate/jui jitsu for speed, and when you fight someone with no experience, you exert less energy in a fight, which is perfect, especially for a hs student.

  • I got kenpo a couple of times, but I'm not sure if that is it, I'm a 16yeqr old male and am slightly slimmer then average, I don't know much about kenpo and I was looking for an art that consisted of more speed and elegance any suggestions?

    • Kenpo is perfect for aggression. For speed I would recommend Wing Chun, which requires both speed and adaptibility in a real combat situation. For elegance, maybe Jiujitsu, Judo or BJJ?

  • I'm surprised of all the comment views I only seen one with Ninjitsu and so far I am the second one with it.. I'm 20 yrs old and half my life I've been doing martial arts but ever since I've discovered Ninjutsu or Ninjitsu I feel as If that's where I belong and dedicated to and this is the first time taking this quiz too.

I'm on a journey of Ninjutsu.. Lol

  • Kenpo was suggested for me. I've had back surgery and still suffer from minor back problems from time to time. Which style martial arts would best work for me?

It's possible to learn anything at home. In fact, you can look up home-made Molotov cocktails and find online tutorials.

But with martial arts, it's extremely beneficial to have a teacher correct your stance and small mistakes as you learn, or else the mistakes will built upon each other, and you'll end up with countless bad habits.

I'd say Kenpo is a lot more Japanese than Chinese, so the commands will most likely be in Japanese. But if you're learning it outside of Japan, the teacher might say the English translations of certain moves.

From your explanation, Aikido actually sounds perfect for you.

I don't claim to know a ton about martial arts (since most of what I know is from manga and Kung Fu movies), but Aikido is a self-defense martial art that does not rely on weight training or muscular strength, and is recommended for girls and boys with leaner and smaller frames.

Like Tai Chi, Aikido focuses on balance ("aiki" = unifying energy/spirit) and tactically using your opponent's strength against them, but Aikido is faster to learn and isn't as soft-styled.

I think this quiz was right on for you, and if you're still interested in martial arts, just give Aikido a try.

    • Aikido not only strengthens your physical balance, but also your mental one. As a practitioner of Kyokushin Karate, I honestly would say Aikido is a perfect companion. I must mention, however that Aikido is useful when combined with a more aggresive martial art because alone, like Tai Chi, it cannot protect you.

  • I've been doing shaolin kungfu for the past 5months now. Although I have felt like I've needed more. I've wanted to know a bit about Aikido because I've always loved the art itself and thought it looked terrific although I would but open to different martial arts just not tai chi

  • I got Kenpo, which I think makes sense for me. I have studied Tae Kwon Do, Isshinryu, and some Shorin ryu karate. As far as all the people dissing Kenpo, they watch too many "cage fights," which are controlled by rules. Not everything works in the street! And just because you studied "karate," it doesn't mean Kenpo has nothing to offer you; All martial arts have something to offer!
