Her whole family have been in Slytherin and all of them are Death Eaters. Her family are quite proud to be Death Eaters and are very influential people as well as being wealthy. Both her parents (Emma and Joseph) work at the Ministry of Magic and are very strict. They had used the cruciatus curse on Ruby once when she was 11 because she wanted to go to Beauxbatons instead of Hogwarts and refused to listen to her parents decision or judgement. Ruby was going to run away because of it and still try to continue with her choice of going to Beauxbatons but her parents stopped her and after a lot of months of persuading (with tonnes of gifts and promising not to use the cruciatus on her ever again-basically spoiling her in every way they could) Ruby promised to stay and attend Hogwarts. Even though her parents don't use the cruciatus curse anymore, they sometimes take her voice away for days, use the body bind hex for hours at a time or any other curse or hex that they can use as an alternative. She has a younger brother (Aaron) who attends Durmstrang and is in his 2nd year.

Her name is Ruby Clarke. She's a 4th year Slytherin and is an enemy to the main character. Her beauty never fails to get her any guy she wants which creates competition between her and the main character because Ruby is unable to gain the boys' attention (either one or all of the guys: Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy and Oliver Wood). Ruby is a Pureblood so she believes that she is good enough for anyone (she's mostly into other Purebloods but if a muggle-born or half-blood catches her eye she'll go after them too) She is quite small, about 4ft 11inches. She has long straight black hair with a couple of white highlights that falls down to her hips. She has piercing green eyes that seem to glow and her eyes are even more enhanced by her long black eyelashes. She moves around silently but quickly and always seems to pop up when something interesting is about to happen. She is an animagus, which is a cat who has the same coloured fur as her hair and the same green eyes. She is very selfish and has a talent for taunting people and getting in, and most of the time, winning fights. She likes to be fussed over and always hangs around with her group of "friends". She just uses her friends as back up or to get them to do her work. Sometimes she gets bored of them and ditches them to do things by herself. She is very clever but uses it for evil. Not many people know that she is an animagus, only her gang. She likes to turn into a cat to eavesdrop, spy on her enemies and sneak into places that she is not allowed to go to, like other common rooms. Because her animagus is a cat she has very quick reflexes. If Ruby feels that a certain person could be dangerous as an enemy she tries to get on their good side. She is very good at flattery and is most of the teachers favourite student because of it. Shes the only girl on the Slytherin quidditch team because she managed to flirt her way into being a beater.
