ok for one yes if you pull some of the mane out it hurts ... not it won't kill the horse... the mane is like your hair .... let's pull some of your hair out and see if it hurts you. for two when a foal misbehaves a mother well give them a warning neigh if it's not too bad, nip if it's a little worse, and drive them away for really bad... so thats a trick ? ... no ones wrong on it...
