What game console should you buy?

The next generation of gaming is finally upon us. The PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii. They're all available for purchase, each with a massively different price and a whole slew of different features. It can get to be quite overwhelming, especially with the misinformation people spread over the Net (not to mention the BS of the fanboys). And that, my dear test-taking friend, is why I created this test.

Maybe you're looking into buying a next-gen console and can't decide which one to get. Maybe you know which one you want, but are wondering if you made the wrong choice. Or maybe you're just really freakin' bored. Regardless, all you have to do is answer some questions about your situation and what's important to you, and I'll tell you which game console you're best suited for. And in case you were wondering, I myself do own all three consoles, so I have at least a bit of an idea what I'm talking about. And I'm a huge nerd, besides.

3. First things first. Are you even a gamer?
Hell yeah! I'm hardcore, man! My first console was PONG! Games are my life!
Er...I love games, but I'm not as hardcore as that ^^ guy.
I play card games. Does that count?
4. Interesting. Now, how much of a factor is price to you?
Very important. I'm a kid/on a budget, and can't afford something very expensive.
Cheaper is better, but I wouldn't mind spending more if it meant I got a better console.
Money is no object! I am Bill Gates!
5. What about graphics? Do your games have to look state-of-the-art?
Hell yeah, if it ain't pretty I ain't touchin' it.
Nah, gameplay is way more important. I mean, SNES games were great, right?
Well, I'd like to see a graphical improvement from last-gen, but they're not THAT important.
6. Do you own an HDTV?
Of course! Why wouldn't I?
Hell no, those things are expensive.
Not yet, but I will eventually.
7. What about broadband Internet? Do you have that?
Well yeah, who doesn't?
Sadly, no. I wish.
Not yet, but I'll be upgrading soon.
8. Does being able to play high-def movies (either Blu-ray or HD-DVD) matter to you at all?
Yes, I'd like that feature. Format doesn't matter.
Yes, I'd like a Blu-ray player.
Yes, I'd like an HD-DVD player.
No, I don't even have an HDTV/already have a high-def movie player.
I'd use it if it had it, but it's no big deal if it doesn't.
9. Would you be connecting your console to the Internet wirelessly? And regardless, would you mind paying extra for an adapter to connect to the Net?
I'm wireless, and don't want an adapter.

10. Multiplayer. What are your thoughts?
I'm all about the multiplayer, baby.

I'd go with whatever got me the best service.
Given a choice between paying and not paying, I'll always take the free option.

I wouldn't even use online multiplayer to begin with.
12. Okay, forget high-def. Do you want your console to play DVDs and CDs?
Well, even my PS2 can do that, so...yeah.
Nah. I've already got a DVD and CD player, I just wanna play games!
I'd use it if it could, but I wouldn't, yanno, throw it across the room or anything if it couldn't.
13. Is backwards compatibility important?
Definitely, yes.
Nah, I can always pull out the old consoles to play old games.
Doesn't matter either way.
14. Which older console has the most games you'd like to still be able to play?

16. Would you buy a console that's known to be very unreliable?
No. Why would I do that? Do I LOOK stupid to you?
As long as it was a good system and I had a warranty, then yeah.

17. Would you be willing to buy extra cables if you needed to, or would you rather it all come in the box?
I can buy my own HDMI cables and such if I need to.
Well, I'd rather not buy anything extra, but I guess if I HAVE to...
I have trouble hooking up a VCR. I NEED it all in the box.
18. Do you want your controller to vibrate? Eh heh, eh heh...ahem. Sorry.
Well yeah.
I work for Sony! Rumble is last-gen!

19. And what about motion-sensing controllers? Are they cool, or gimmicky?

Sure.
I'd use it, but it's not necessary.

21. What about playing your own music during games? Will you go on game forums and whine a lot if this feature is missing?
YES I MUST HAV MAH MOOZACKZ OMG
Who needs that? I'm telling you, I just want games!

22. How hard are you willing to look for your console of choice if you can't find one?
Screw that, if I can't find one around here the first place I look I'll give up.

23. And last but definitely not least, the games! This IS what you buy these things for, after all... Okay, which of the following lists of games sounds most appealing to you? This has more of an impact than any other question so far, so choose carefully.
