  nobody is in hell right now. everybody who has died in the last is still in the grave awaiting judgment
  
  2 Peter 2:9
  then the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished,
  
  this has been commonly misunderstood into people thinking the lord punishes the evil as soon as they die.
