	You saw a shirt for 97$ You didnt have the cash. So you borrowed $50 dollars from your mom. And $50 dollars from your dad. $50 + $50 = $100 You bought the shirt and had $3 dollars change. You gave you Dad $1 dollar, your Mom $1 dollar, and you kept $1 dollar for yourself. You now owe $49 to your mom. And $49 to your dad. $49 + $49 + your $1 dollar = $99 dollars. Where is the missing $1?

	there is no missing dollar, simple, the equation doesn't have to add to 100 (thats what I think)

	You have it. shirt = 97 50 from mom, 50 from dad = 100 100-97= 3 ignoring the "+ your 1 dollar" part, if you returned 2 bucks (1 to each parent), then the total cash you took from them is 49+49=98 you got the shirt for 97 so you got a dollar back :P I may have confused myself with this.

	You are just confusing yourself: You got 100$ from your parents,you buy the shirt for 97$ so you get 3$ change. You give each of your parents 1$ and there will be 1$ left for yourself so: "1 plus 1 plus 1 plus 97 = 100" Thats it dun confuse yourself ;)
