Depends on the person. Most of them usually aren't, though.

I agree with Ana. Depends on the person, but many aren't. Whether they're celebrities or people you see everyday, many aren't.

In response to my topic, page 3:

My question is why should today's "role models" even be role models?

I absolutely, fundamentally deplore it when clueless parents of today have the audacity to state that "role models" of today - such as Rhianna or Kim Kardashian - are being terrible role models for their children. Firstly, when did a person that a parent or child is not even acquainted with from the television or a magazine become an example for your child? When parents complain that they're children use profanities or that they're overtly sexualised because of their "role models", you can't help but ask the question: why aren't the parent/parents a role model for their children? Are they such a parents that they can't even set an admirable example for their child, so instead they look to the media? Instead of blaming it on a practical stranger for the corrupt nature of their child as if the child is their responsibility, why don't the parents learn how parent?

There is no doubt that the media is overtly sexualised nowadays and peer pressure is a rife. But I find that is no excuse - whatsoever. I consume - and I'm sure most of you - so much of what today is corrupting so many children, but I don't feel the need to become a WAG or attempt to be the next Kim Kardashian. It seems parents - that shouldn't even be parents - are just a influenced by today's nonsense as they are to their children.

Parents of today need to stop blaming these so-called role models for their screwed up children, when they did not ask, imply, nor should not be automatically made into a role as they are not their responsibility, but the parents and the parents solely who should teach they're children some basic lessons and discipline. Popstars and reality TV stars should not be role models, the parents should be as they should set the example.

I find it strange my "parents" expect me to never swear, but they've done nothing to censor themselves. -.- How am I supposed to never say them (in person) if they always introduce me to them.
