| I don't see the reference to 9/11 but to the people in Africa yes. Without it though, it would just be a huge unindustrialized (higher rate) diseased desert. | |

Well, the rain forest I wouldn't call imperialism. Imperialism refers to the taking over another country by a stronger one. Think of Social Darwinism. It is unfortunate for the people this is happening to, but Africa would still be like prehistoric if not for it. I find Africa was already and still is destroyed, it's only better because we set up governments and modernized for them. | |

| Actually, Africa was better off before we went over there. They had thriving civilizations before we enslaved them, either in the Western world or as inhabitants of their own land. As for their governments, we didn't actually set those up- African nations set up their own governments when they won independence following World War II, and in between power struggles, corruption, and brutal authoritarian regimes, those governments have been very unstable. | |

Actually, there were no civilizations in Africa before the imperialists came. Sure there tribes, but no actual government. And prior to WW II nations were won as well. Look at Ethiopa who resisted italian control in the 1800's because of Menelik, who tried following the government the imperialists did in countries around him. Check up on your history. | |
