| I get what you're saying, Don Corleone- gun control doesn't neccessarily reduce crime, and criminals do still find ways to get guns. No debate over that- it's a fact. But we shouldn't let criminals own firearms legally- we shouldn't be the ones putting the gun in their hands. And even with gun control measures, law-abiding citizens can legally own a gun to protect themselves if they so choose. | |

I apologize- "....we shouldn't let criminals own firearms legally"? Are criminals legal? Are you telling me they walk into stores, present themselves as criminals, and buy a gun? They steal them! People who want to protect their family buy them! So either way criminals are getting them! And Appayiyip42, I apologize and this may sound very immature, but SHUT UP!!!!!!!! All you do is say capitalism is bad and give no facts or figures, and say how we should train every citizen to fight. What are we, Soviet Russia? | |

| The kind of laws you are advocating- or I assume you are advocating- would make it so that anyone could get guns, including convicted criminals and mentally unstable citizens. Do you feel that we as a society should legally put a gun in the hands of someone who is likely to use it in the commission of a crime? I don't. | |

| Oh I see. Yes absolutley you are right. The problem is we can't tell who is a criminal, so by banning the guns completley as advocated by most liberals, they would only get in the hands of criminals who steal them. | |
