  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. *Amber's POV* Weeks pasted and I got more comfortable at the house. I soon found out that I'm still in California, but I'm a lot closer to the ocean. Me and Tyler talk when he gets out of work. Me and Emily are like sisters, sharing everything form brushes to secrets. Except one. I still won't tell her my story, or the guys. They keep asking, and the more they ask, the more angery I get. I haven't dreamt about Thanatos or the paradise that I saw. And that makes me sleep easier. I hear my phone ringing and look at the time. Its four-thirty. Tyler is always on time. I pick up the phone. "Hey Tyler." I say. "No, its not Tyler." My heart sinks. "Its Mr.McClain." Great. Perfect. "Um...hi Mr.McClain. Is there something I can do?" I here him breathing heavily on the other end. "Yes there is. Tyler just got done telling me that you were quitting. Is this true?" There's a touch of angier in his voice. Thanks Tyler. "Yeah its true. I live futher away now and I can't drive there in time to start work. So I found another job. I was going to tell you but Tyler beat me to it." I feel guilty. Mr.McClain has been the best I've had, and he's always nice. He sighs heavily, like the world's on his shoulders. "Amber, you have been the best employee I've had in a long time. Would you consider coming back if the new job dosen't work out?" I smile. He's the best. "Yes I will. I'm sorry for not telling you eariler." And I hung up. My phone rings again. This time its Tyler. "Your in so much trouble." I growl into the phone. "Hey what did I do?" He sounds like an 'innocent' kid. "You told our boss that I was quitting. I was going to do that. But knowing you, you just dumped it all on him without an explanation. Am I right?" I hear him chuckle. "I actually told him we were both quitting." "What?!?" I scream into the phone. "Calm down. I said we were both moving. Which reminds me. I really would like ti see you. Could you get out for, mabey five minutes?" I think about it. We're all going out for dinner in a hour. "Meet me at Laguna beach at six. We're all eating there." "Ok. see you later beautiful." And he hangs up.
  2. I walk out into the living room to find the guys all watching tv. "Umm, you guys know that we're leaving in a hour to eat?" They all look up at me at the same time. I try not to smile and look pissed. "We don't need a hour to get ready like you and Emily." Sam says from the couch. They all smile, obyiously trying not to laugh. I put my hands on my hips, which I hardly ever do. And thats all it takes. Every guy erupts into laughter and I can't help but smile. "You are horrible. You all know that right?" "Yep." Riley says and we all laugh. "Well I'm going to get ready." I start walking up to my room. "Try not to take an hour." Eric calls after me and they laugh. I roll my eyes. Guys. What are going to do? I knock on Emily's door and she opens the door quickly and pulls my in. "Wow. You ok?" Clothes are everywere. "I don't know what to wear!" Emily's still in her jeans and shirt. "What about your yellow dress? That one looks go on you." She shakes her head. "No. I want something I don't have. I could have sworn..." She starts digging threw her closet. I start checking piles of clothes. We take about five minutes before I give up. "Lets just go buy something for you." I say. The look on her face tells me that I just saved her. "And we'll get you something. Don't shake you head at me. We are going to buy bathing suites and something else." She already grabs her purse and keys. I know arguing with her is a lost cause, so I run after her. "Meet you at the beach!" We yell as we run out the door. Jumping into the red mustang I wait for her to start the car. "Fine I'll get something, but not a dress." I say. She sticks her tongue out at me. "Your so not a girl." She says as we drive down the road to the little shop that carries everything from dresses to socks for girls.
  3. "What do you think about this?" Emily twirls around in a bright red dress. Everything looks so good on her. I'm always jealous when my clothes look like they were made for her when she wears them. Me on the other hand... "I like it." She rolls her eyes. "You've said that about the last four ones." "Because they all look good on you, especially that one." I point at the red one she's wearing. And it does. The dress drapes around her wicked curves like a second skin. She looks in the mirror again. "Really?" I roll my eyes. "No. I'm totally lying to you. That dress SO doesn't look good at you." For saying it I'm rewarded with a dress hitting me in the face. "Ok Ms.Sarcastic. For that you WILL try on that dress." I look at her in horror. "Umm no. That so will not happen." But Emily pushes me in a dressing room. Sighing I close and lock the door. As I try on the dress I start thinking of ways to get back at Emily. When I looked in the mirror I was surprised at what I saw. The dress is midnight blue and comes down to my mid thigh. It is skin tight but airy. I saw curves that I thought weren't there. The material is silky and smooth as I ran my hand down the side. "Done yet?" Emily said as she knocked on the door. I opened it a crack and, uninvited, Emily came in. She shuts the door and turns to look at me. "Whoa." She says, her mouth wide open. I blush. I don't look that good. "You know I'm going to dinner, not a bar." She laughs. I must look confused because her laughter dies. "I thought you knew?" "Know what?" "The place we're going to IS a bar. We usually go there every friday. We haven't beacuse of you. And don't take that the wrong way." She adds quickly. I look at her dress. She's changed into a bright green cocktail dress. Its open in the back. Well, there is no back actually. It looks good on her. EVERYTHING looks good on her. But this time I don't feel jealousy, but I see it flare in Emily's eyes. Why would she feel jealous? SHE'S the pretty one, not me. She's a star and I'm a comment. Her burning bright and me having my moments. "You look good. That dress is the one." I say into the awkward silence. She smiles and all the firey jealousy is gone from her eyes. She's not like this. Never has been. But people can change. "You think so?" She turns around in a slow circle. I nod. The dress is tight and metallic, fighting her perfectly. "So what do you guys do at the bar?" I ask as she walks out and into a diffrent fitting room. I start taking off the dress and find out that is sticks to me. Not in a sticky way, but in a wierd skin feeling. "We have o be at least twenty-one." She wispers. "But we have fake id's that we use. Sam made a extra one for you last night." We both come out at the same time making us laugh. "So, like a real bar? With alcohol and bouncers?" I ask as we look for shoes. She nods, then looks over her shoulders. "This bar is on the beach, mabey two feet from it. We just go around the back. Its in an abounded part of the shopping place. And the walls are soundproof." She says as she looks at black high heels. "How about these?" She holds up the shoes. I shrug. "There ok. But these might look better." I hold up a pair of sparkling black stilettos that could shatter an ankel if you walked in them. But she could pull it of. Her eyes brighten when she see's them. "Yes! There perfect!" She grabs them and trys them on. I start looking. Should I wear a plain black shoe? Or mabey a diffrent color? I see a dark heeld shoes that's not black. There midnight blue with heels like the black ones. Only the heels are bedazzaled with blue jewels that catch the light ad throw it back a sea blue.
  4. We walk out of the store with the shoes, dresses, and some jelwery to match. I can't stop thinking of the shoes. They seem to goood to be true. I frown. Could I be even vainier? And since when did I become a girly-girl? "We're going to the house right?" I ask when we get in the car. "Yeah. Judging by the time we'll have about a hour to get ready." "We were in there that long?" Wow. Mabey I'm not such a tom boy. "Yeah." As we drive I think of meeting Tyler. I really missed him. And with Trey filling up most of my afternoons with talking and walking, I never really had all that time to talk to him. With his new job and all. I thought of my necklace sittiong on my bed. It's all 100% shappire, shaped in a perfect circle that fit in the hollow of my neck like it was ment for me. It was the same thing I wore when my parents died. Tears burned my eyes. No, not here. I always bawled like a baby when I thought of that day. All because of Thanatos. He ruined my life, more than once. I felt a hot tear run down my cheek. I still wanted my mom and dad. I wanted to get angery at them for the worst reasons. I wanted to go dress shopping with my mom and bake too. I wanted my dad to teach me how to ride a bike and how to swim. But no. Thanatos took all that way from me. Why couldn't he have found me when he killed my parents? I was just behind the couch! But we walked by me, tourching everything with blue and orange fire. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from sobbing. Today was supossed to be a happy one, not one spent in the bathroom curled in a ball crying about my greatess failure. "Hey, AMber are you ok?" Emily reached over to tap me on the shoulder. That's all it took. I dissolved into bitter tears of loss and pain. Emily didn't say or do anything. SHe didn't try to say its ok, didn't try to tell me I was ok or hold me. She just sat there, her hands in her lap, with tears rolling down her face. And it made it a lot better. I wasn't the only one broken, not the only one who had lost everything. When I calmed down I saw we were at the house. How long had we sat there crying over sad memories? Fifeteen minutes. Great. "Come on." I said, my voice croaking like a frog. She nodded stiffly. And we walked into the house together.
  5. I was happy that Emily didn't ask why I had cried. Mabey she has guessed that something really bad had happened to me. And I wanted to keep it that way. Just like I didn't them to know I knew how to bend all the elements. I've never told anybody, scared that they would treat me differently, like I was higher up than they were. Emily tugged at my hair again, tearing out some hair. "Ow!" I screamed. "Sorry. Your hair dosen't seem to like stuff like this." She sweeps her hand over all the hair things she has tried. The only thing we haven't tried is curling it. She had turned the chari facing the wall so I couldn't see what I looked like. She wanted me to be surprised. "Ok if curling dosen't work, it's going to lay straight. Got it?" I nodded. I leaned back so she could start painting my face with eyeshadow and lipstick. I watch her grab blush and start pattating my cheeks. I don't think I did a bad job on her. She wanted that bight and flashy look. So I went with lime green eyeshadow, fake eyelashes that were green with glitter, and blush. She said she loved what I did, she even liked how I did her hair. For never wearing make-up in my life or ever doing anything really nice with my hair, I was good at it. With her hair on top of her head, some stray pieces of hair framing her face, she looked like a goddess. Not even my ok handiwork work could make her look bad. She had the face and body that could pull anything off. "Close your eyes. I'm going to put eyelashes on." I don't nod, just in case I mess something up. I sit there quite and unmoving for what seems like forever. Finally she tells me to close my eyes. The chair turns. "Ok. Open." And I do.
  6. I gape at myself. Emily stands behind me with a bright smile. "You like it?" I manage a stiff nod. I look wonderful. The eyeshadow is looking more like smoke than powdered dust on my eyelids. The macara and eyeliner aren't too heavy done, but they aren't too lightly done either. I don't have any blush on and my lips are a soft pink color. "You made me look beautiful." I whisper. And she did. "No," She shakes her head, "you've always looked like this. I just added make-up. I went for a smokey look. Hope that's ok." I nod and watch her curl my hair. In the end my hair is wispy, which I can deal with. If I looked any better I might not go. Sounds weird but everyone will look at like some weird. Especially the guys. I blushed at the thought as I climbed into the car. I really liked the guys, maybe more than I should. Watching the trees and buildings pass by in a blur helps me concentration. I can't like this many guys! It was ridiculous! What was wrong with me? You've let your ice crack, a voice says in my head. I remember when I stopped looking at guys, hoping they would look at me. Ice Queen. That's what I started acting like. I made a ice barrier inside me, making myself trapped in ice so no one would hurt me. Even when I went back to school - which was pure hell - I kept the Ice Queen thing going on. The few friends I made thought that I didn't care what people said to me. And it was true. "Earth to Amber!" Emily waved a piece of plastic in my face. "Huh?" I asked. "I said this is the id." She gave me the fake id. I was impressed. Sam had out done himself. Everything looked real on here.
  7. *Riley's POV* Girls take forever. I tapped my foot to the beat if the song that came from the "band" on the stage. And the strobe lights didn't help. With everything looking like it was under water and the screaming of the singer, I was starting to get a headache. The place had plush purple loveseats in dark corners, a bar that served everything from water to moonshine, and soundproof walls. I started walking toward the door when the bouncer opened it. In walked Emily and...oh God. Amber looked good. Better than good, she was a goddess. Her hair was curly and her make-up looked sexy and dangerous - like her. Everything about her screamed HOT! Right down to her shoes that make her look like she's walking on stars. They trap the light and throw it make a deep blue. I walked over to her as she ordered a drink. Emily was no where to be found. Even better. "Hey." She said when I sat down. "Do I want to know what took so long?" I asked with a smile on my face. I hoped I don't look like the joker. "Nope." And she drank her drink. "What's that?" I point to her drink. I was going to be dry because I was the driver. "Vodka." She answered. "Wait. Isn't that strong?" She shrugged. "You look nice tonight." I say. She blushes and ducks her head. "Um...thanks." she stammers. "Want to dance?" I blurt out. Oh kill me. She smiles and her cheeks become ever redder. "I don't know how to dance." She mumbles. I grab her hand, loving the feel of it in mine. "Don't worry. I'll teach you." And I lead her to the dance floor.
  8. *Amber's POV* Dancing with Riley is a dream. I always wanted him to hold me like he is, spinning me around. And now he is. I feel a little bad because I like the other guys too. But the feeling is gone almost instantly when he takes me to one of the love seats. It's soft and warm when we sit down. I'm dizzy from the alcohol and dancing for so long. What time was it? Oh who cared. Just feeling his hot breath made it all better. "Amber?" He rested his cheek on my head. "Hmm?" "I think your drunk." I laugh. Am I drunk? "And why would think that?" My words arn't slurr, which is a good sign. "Because you would never let me hold you." He says softly. I turn and find myself face to face with Riley. His lips are inches apart. Could I pretend I was drunk the next day? "Ril-" I don't finish. Riley plants his soft lips to mine. I lose my self in the kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck and I hear him groan. He pulls me closer, pressing my body to his. His mouth tastes like honey and I'm loving every minute of it. Then I hear screaming and a loud crack.
  9. I jumped back like I had been hit in the stomach. Everyone stopped dancing, the music dying down. The people looked at each other, confusion on there faces. The scream came again, this time everyone benign able to hear it. It sounded like an animal being torn in two, but oddly human. The blood drained from me, pooling in my feet. I knew that sound. It was a harpies, a monster with the body of a bird but with the head and torso of a women. Riley tightened his grip on me - if it was protect me or keep me from falling on my face I didn't know. People started talking in hushed voices. "Mabey it's two animals going at each other." A man suggested. "Is it a dying animal?" A women with a high pitch voice asked. The band slowly started playing again, but what the song was I couldn't tell. At least they had the modesty not to play a loud song. "What was that?" Riley whispered into my hair. I saw Eric and Trey weaving in between people and then Sam with Emily following behind them. Riley let me go, standing up to go and talk to the others. Emily comes over to me and puts an arm around me. "You ok?" She asks. I shake my head. "I need to do something." I say and melt into the crowd.
  10. I almost ran out the door. I was surprised to see the bouncer gone. The cry came again, so sharp that I covered my ears. I ran in the direction of the sound, which was farily hard in the heels. After tripping twice I left them in the sand. I was surprised to see I made it this far, I must have ran a good mile and a-half in heels. I turned the cornerand nearly fell over. There was three harpies flying around a person. Two were lying in the sand, unmoving and in pools of blood. The person looked like an air-bender using light movements. He also used a sword. The moon was only half full, but it was enough to see. I ran toward the person, feeling power erupting in my body. Darkness crept in my vision, outlining everything in black. When I got close enough I shoot water from the ocean to the closet bird women. It screamed and fell into the water. As it fought to become free I forced water onto it's head. Finally it stopped moving, rolling with the waves until it hit the sand with a thunk. I let fire wrap around my arms, slowly curling up to my elbows. I wiped my arms out and the fire hot the two harpies with a lash. They cried out as there feathers and skin burned but I didn't stop whipping and lashing them until they fell to the beach sand. I let the fire go with a puff of smoke and breathed deepily. Every time I used my elements I felt powerful. Coming back from that high was diffrent than any feeling. The person turned around and I saw that it was Tyler. I ran toward him and he grabed me into a hug. He was wearing that cologne that smelled like pine and the forest. "I missed you." I say into his neck. Having his arms around ne is like coming home. He would always hug me when he saw me. "Me too." He said. I pulled away from him. He looked alright, except fro a few scratches on his face. "You said to meet at the beach." I blushed for the third time this night. "Sorry I forgot." He smiled. "Aww I can't stay mad at you." And then his eyes got big. "What?" I asked but then I felt something sharp grab my arms. They dug into my skin, cutting me. I soon was flying watching as Tyler frantically tried to get me down. Everything was going dark, as if I was falling asleep. I couldn't move. I was caught by a harpies, I thought, and it's drugging me with it's poison. My head fell to my chin as my eyes slowly closed.
  11. *Tyler's POV* I watched as the harpie flew off with Amber. I had tried to do something, but whatever I tried didn't work. Wherever the bird was taking her was something I needed to know. I start running toward the pier and then I see three people coming toward me. Did they see me and Amber? Please let it be no. "What the he'll was that?" The girl looked at the sky. "Where did it take Amber?" "Wait," I try not to shake, "you know Amber?" "Yeah I'm her friend." these must be the people that she is forced to live with. "I'm Tyler." The girl nods. "She's told me about you. I'm Emily. This is Riley and Eric." she points at the guys. They don't seem as calm as Emily. Riley keeps unclenching hIs hands and then makes them into fits again. Eric's eyes are wild and keep looking at the sky. "We need to find Amber." Eric says, his voice sounding hollow. Riley nods and turns and starts walking toward the pier. I run after them. "Don't leave me out if this." Emily nods and we all walk to a car. Riley spins on his feet, facing me. His eyes are full of fire. "If you two are close then will you tell me why Amber can bend water and fire?
