The Gators rallied from a 17-7 third quarter deficit with two touchdowns and allowed Tennessee only a field goal, winning the game 21-20. The Gators defense held to Tennessee to negative 11 rushing yards. After the win the Gators improved to number 5 in the nation. The Gators improved to 4-0 after beating Kentucky 26-7. The offense gained over 500 yards and the defense held Kentucky to 39 rushing yards and sacked quarterback Andre' Woodson 6 times. It was also in this game that Chris Leak broke school records for pass attempts (1,203) and completions (733) and DeShawn Wynn recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing game.
