3. Do you favor the Social Security Program?
Yes, it is a necessary, important role of government to take care of its elderly.
Yes, although I think there are some small adjustments that could be made, it is important to take care of the elderly.
Yes, but I think we need massive overhaul, perhaps personal savings or retirement accounts mandated by and managed through government, because it is important to provide for ourselves in old age.
No, I think it's none of the government's business.
No, I think it's none of the government's business, and I think anybody who wants to mandate such a program ought to be shot, and should never, ever be trusted with a ballot.
4. Do you favor government-run healthcare programs?
Yes, I think all medical treatment is a right of all people, without respect to how they might pay, and think government ought to decide who get treated, how, when, and if.
Yes, I think only government has the ability to ensure just distribution of healthcare resources.
I favor current Medicare and Medicaid programs, but no further expansions.
No, I think we should eliminate all current programs.
No, I think we should eliminate all current programs, AND try those who enacted current programs as war criminals, if still living.
5. Are you in favor of Foodstamps or other means-tested programs to feed the poor?
Yes, of course. We need to take care of the necessities for those who cannot take care of themselves. It's the role of government to do so.
I favor programs that look after the essentials of life; what is more essential than food?
I think we need some overhauls here because there is some abuse.
I oppose food hand-outs because it encourages laziness.
I oppose food hand-outs because it encourages laziness, but also because nobody has a right to a free lunch. Ever!
6. Do you favor publicly-funded housing assistance?
Yes, absolutely. People need to have a roof over their heads. It's the least we can do, and it's our duty.
Yes, we need to provide basic housing, because, if nothing else, people should have a place to lay their heads at night.
I think there should be some reforms, but as a person of faith, I definitely think it's necessary to do something.
No. No free lunch. No free housing.
No, never. Who is to provide all of these freebies if nobody is paying? Not on my back, pal.
7. Do you think that government ought to raise revenues through the taxing of income?
Yes, absolutely. It's government's job to redistibute wealth from those who have it to those who don't.
Yes, because some people have surpluses of income, that they don't really need. Who needs a billion dollars, anyway?
I think the IRS, in its current form, needs massive overhaul, but I also think there's a question of fairness involved, as to who pays, and who doesn't. I think we have to consider the practical fact that we have to raise it somewhere if we're to have a c
No. My money is mine.
No, of course not. I think we should eliminate the Income tax, in all its forms, and club to death any looter who proposes another.
8. Do you think we should, as a nation, subsidize our agriculture, in order to ensure a safe and plentiful food supply?
Yes, we cannot have a nation if we do not make sure everybody gets to eat, and if we must subsidize farming, then that's what we must do.
I don't like giving money to farmers, but then again, I don't like paying ten dollars for a loaf of bread, and without the subsidies, that's what it would cost.
I think we need to re-examine the sorts of things we subsidize, but ultimately, yes, we need to make sure we have enough food.
No.
No, we shouldn't have farm subsidies, and we should shoot farmers who ask for them, not to mention the scumbag politicians who offer them!
9. Do you think we should bail out our most critical industries and other business concerns?
Yes, but when we do so, the government should sieze them for the common good.
Only in the most extreme cases, where the largest number of jobs are at stake.
Yes, but we should be careful not to spend government funds on business models that are obvious failures.
No, it should be up to the market whether businesses succeed or fail.
No, it's about the market, and I should not be forced at gunpoint to pay for some failing company, no matter how allegedly important it might be.
10. Do you think the US Constitution is a living document, flexible to changing conditions in the world?
Absolutely! What good is some piece of parchment if it prevents us from doing what is necessary? If it isn't flexible, we should ignore it.
Yes, the US Constitution was intended to allow give and take between the branches of government in changing times. It isn't etched in stone, after all.
We needn't go to the extreme letter of the law. Instead, we should have wise judges who interpret law according to modern definitions and usages.
No, it isn't flexible, and shouldn't be. How can we live by rules that change daily?
Yes, it IS a living document, but it is inflexible. The Constitution allows for changes to be made through the Amendment and Convention processes it explains, but other than that, absolutely not, as for all intents and purposes, it IS etched in stone.
11. Do you support the right to free speech as expressed through campaign contributions?
No. Money isn't speech, and we should shoot the moneychangers who think it is. This is all about the zionists...
No, everything should have limits, and there's no reason we can't limit the amount of money people can give to campaigns.
We need campaign reform, and McCain-Feingold was a good start, even if flawed.
No, I ought to be able to give whatever I want as long as I report it.
No, never, and any reporting requirements should be on the candidates, who ought to be compelled by law to publish the names of donors and all amounts contributed. We need to know to whom these skunks are beholden.
12. Do you think we should provide money and other forms of support to our allies around the world?
Yes, we are all brothers, and all have the same rights to the fruits of wealth.
Yes, we ought to support our fellow man when he is reaching for freedom.
We should cut back on the foreign aid, but there are times when as a practical reality, it is necessary.
No. I repeat: No free lunches, for anybody.
Never! Not one cent from the US Treasury ought to be shipped to allies, or world organizations for any purpose, ever.
